Senior Grid Modernization Specialist (Remote)

About the Role Our client is seeking a forward-thinking Senior Grid Modernization Specialist to join their distributed team, contributing to the evolution of energy infrastructure. This fully remote role focuses on planning and implementing strategies for upgrading and enhancing the power grid to support new technologies such as smart meters, distributed energy resources, and advanced grid controls. You will play a key part in shaping the future of energy delivery, working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to ensure a resilient, efficient, and sustainable grid. Key Responsibilities • Develop and execute roadmaps for grid modernization initiatives, including smart grid technologies and distributed energy resource integration. • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and solutions to improve grid reliability, efficiency, and flexibility. • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and IT departments to ensure seamless implementation of modernization projects. • Analyze grid performance data to identify areas for improvement and measure the impact of modernization efforts. • Manage vendor relationships and oversee the procurement and deployment of grid modernization equipment and software. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. • A Master's degree is a plus. • Minimum of 7 years of experience in power systems, grid operations, or smart grid technologies. • Proven experience with smart grid technologies, including AMI, SCADA, DER integration, and grid automation. • Strong project management skills and the ability to lead complex, multi-disciplinary initiatives remotely. • Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
