What these tools will and will not do with a career

This is the line ResumeKart will not cross. AI on a resume rewrites how true things are said. It does not manufacture things that are not true.

• No employer, job title, date, qualification, certification or tool is ever added that the candidate did not provide.
• No metric is invented. Where a number would strengthen a line, the tools ask for it and leave a visible placeholder until the candidate supplies one — a figure that is not theirs is worse than no figure at all.
• Suggested wording is a suggestion. Nothing is written into a resume without the candidate accepting it.
• Where an example is generic rather than drawn from the candidate’s own document, it is labelled as generic, including in email.

Consent is specific, separate and never assumed — in keeping with India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act and the GDPR.

• Each permission is its own choice. Agreeing to receive a score does not agree to anything else.
• Nothing that shares a resume more widely is ever pre-ticked. Recruiter visibility is off unless the candidate turns it on, and can be turned off again.
• A resume uploaded for a score is read for its text and the file itself is discarded. It is not kept, not re-served, and not passed on.
• An uploaded resume that is never claimed is deleted automatically after 90 days.
• A candidate can ask for their data to be exported or erased, and ResumeKart will do it.

Automation can draft. It does not get to speak to an employer on someone’s behalf without that person reading it first.

• Applications, outreach and messages to an employer are shown to the candidate for approval before they are sent.
• No message is sent to an employer in a candidate’s name that the candidate has not seen.
• Anything sent on ResumeKart’s own behalf to an employer is reviewed by a person before it goes.

The job board exists to send candidates to real, open roles — and to send them to the employer, not away from one.

• Listings are gathered in ways their publishers permit, and every listing keeps a link to the original posting so a candidate can apply at the source.
• A listing that is no longer open stops being shown.
• ResumeKart does not present someone else’s listing as its own.
• A publisher who wants a listing removed can say so and it is removed.

A candidate should always be able to see what changed, and why a number is what it is.

• Scores are explained, not just displayed — each one comes with the specific gaps behind it.
• A score is a reading of how applicant tracking software is likely to parse a resume. It is not a prediction of whether someone will be hired, and it is not presented as one.
• Edits are visible and reversible. Previous versions of a resume remain available to the candidate.
• Where a recommendation is a paid partnership, it is labelled, and the basis for recommendations is published.
