Job Description
Job Opportunity! Lead - Partner Network Growth & P&L at Wiom
Build solutions that reach middle-India homes, 23 at a time.
Why Wiom exists:
- 90% of Indian households don't have unlimited broadband internet! Enter Wiom. Wiom is rebuilding home internet around how middle India actually buys. We offer reliable, unlimited home internet in small, flexible recharges - including a 23 daily plan - making high-speed connectivity accessible without large upfront commitments.
- Internet is the first product. The bigger opportunity is the relationship we build with each household. The same Wiom rail can carry entertainment, learning, AI and other digital services - Wiom TV is already live, with learning and AI offerings in pilot. Our ambition: 50 crore people, 23 at a time - sachetised access to the digital world.
- Wiom was founded by IIT-IIM alumni with experience at companies including Microsoft and American Express, and is backed by investors including Accel, Prosus, Bertelsmann, RTP Global, YourNest and Auxano.
About the Role:
- Own supply availability and growth for a cluster of hyperlocal zones, and run each zone as a P&L until it is profitable.
- Wiom brings affordable home internet to households in dense, underserved urban neighbourhoods, delivered through a network of local partners who install and service every connection. Demand is not our constraint. A meaningful share of customers who book with us still do not get connected, usually because the partner closest to them does not act in time. Closing that gap is one of the largest growth levers we have, and it is a supply problem, not a marketing problem.
- You will own a portfolio of zones - contiguous clusters of neighbourhoods - and be accountable for making each one work: high install conversion, low cost per install, and service quality good enough that customers stay.
Why this role exists:
Our operating model is a chain, and this role owns the whole chain rather than one link of it:
- Reliable partners: Every connection runs through a local partner. When a partner consistently converts the demand we send him, customers get connected; when he does not, the reasons are usually knowable and fixable, one partner at a time.
- Converting neighbourhoods: Enough reliable partners in one neighbourhood and it converts demand consistently.
- Dense, contiguous zones: Contiguity is the economic point. Scattered good neighbourhoods cannot be marketed efficiently; a contiguous zone can. Marketing spend, field teams and logistics all get cheaper per install inside a tight boundary.
- Profitable zones: When install conversion is high, our real cost of acquisition falls, because we stop paying to generate demand that dies. When partners are also good at service, retention rises and lifetime value holds up. That is what makes a zone profitable, and it is why supply quality and growth cannot be separate jobs.
We already measure every partner, locality and zone daily. We need an owner who can turn that into zones that actually perform, and then repeat it city by city.
Who we are looking for:
- First-principles thinker: Can take an unfamiliar, messy problem, decide what actually matters, and defend the choice. We care about this far more than domain experience.
- Genuinely analytical: Comfortable in data at row level - SQL or equivalent - and checks a number before believing it.
- Ops orientation with real field appetite: Willing to spend a large part of the week in dense neighbourhoods and partner shops across Delhi NCR. This role cannot be run from a desk.
- Builder instinct: Builds systems, definitions and playbooks that keep working without them, rather than relying on heroics.
- P&L thinking: Understands CAC, payback, retention and contribution margin well enough to argue about them.
- Hindi fluency: Because every partner conversation happens in it.
Experience:
- 6 - 9 years; the shape matters more than the years. Backgrounds that tend to work:
- Category or city P&L at a hyperlocal or quick-commerce business (supply, seller or partner side)
- Founder or early team member of a business with a physical, distributed supply base, including one that did not work out
- Consulting or investing, only if followed by real operating ownership
- Operations, BD or analytics roles with a track record of owning outcomes, now ready for a P&L
