Kshema General Insurance - Actuarial Manager

Responsibilities: - Lead the development and implementation of actuarial policies, methodologies, models and analyses, ensuring they remain robust, commercially relevant and aligned to internal and external changes. - Support pricing, reserving and portfolio decisions through actuarial insights, including product reviews, portfolio performance monitoring, profitability analysis and rate or assumption recommendations. - Work on pricing for key business segments, including government business and tenders, and support business growth through actuarial input into product design and market expansion. - Collaborate closely with underwriting, product development, finance, claims and other stakeholders to ensure actuarial analysis supports business objectives and are consistent with the company's risk appetite. - Ensure effective linkage between pricing and reserving analyses so that portfolio experience, claims trends and reserve insights are appropriately reflected in actuarial decisions. - Analyse historical data, market trends, competitor results, reserving practices and emerging risks to provide actionable insights and support continuous improvement in actuarial decisions. - Lead or support the preparation of regulatory filings, reserving policy, solvency forms, management information and other actuarial reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory and professional requirements. - Implement and strengthen controls, governance and risk management practices within the actuarial function, including model documentation, validation and process improvements. - Support the implementation of key strategic and regulatory initiatives such as Risk-Based Capital (RBC) and IFRS 17 / Ind AS 117 within the company. - Prepare clear reports, presentations and recommendations for senior management, Board committees and other stakeholders, communicating complex actuarial matters in a concise and practical manner. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, commerce or a related field. - Progress towards actuarial qualifications with a recognized actuarial body (e.g., IAI); nearly/newly qualified candidates would be preferred. - 3+ years of prior experience in an actuarial function within the general (including Health) insurance industry. - Proficiency in MS Office Suite, VBA, SQL and Python along with an interest in use of emerging technologies like Data Science, GPTs and Power Platforms. - Good understanding of actuarial principles, regulatory environment, and insurance product/portfolio dynamics. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to handle multiple priorities. - Good communication skills, with the ability to present findings in a clear and concise manner.
