Solutions Designer

Our Client is seeking a Senior Solutions Designer to provide technical leadership in the design, development and implementation of complex, large-scale and high-profile technology solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with enterprise architects, business analysts, development teams, infrastructure teams, security architects, privacy SMEs and operational stakeholders to translate business and functional requirements into scalable, secure and maintainable application designs. The role requires strong hands-on knowledge of modern application architecture, cloud technologies, microservices, healthcare interoperability standards and enterprise software development. Key Responsibilities • Lead the technical design and enhancement of complex, large-scale and high-risk enterprise technology solutions. • Translate business requirements and functional specifications into detailed application and technical designs. • Work with architects to develop consistent application, interface, object and data models. • Produce detailed low-level design and development artifacts that provide sufficient guidance for development and testing teams. • Define application software, hardware, network and infrastructure requirements. • Lead and guide development teams through solution design and implementation. • Oversee implementation of approved technical solutions, including design, development, testing, installation, deployment and monitoring. • Design solutions using cloud-native technologies, containerization, orchestration and microservices. • Support healthcare interoperability using Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standards. • Collaborate with infrastructure, operations and deployment teams to define the physical deployment architecture. • Work with security architects and privacy SMEs to ensure application and deployment designs comply with required security and data privacy standards. • Implement and promote automated build and deployment processes through CI/CD. • Conduct application and system performance analysis, performance tuning and recommend optimization solutions. • Ensure designs meet functional and non-functional requirements while complying with GO-ITS and internal architecture standards. • Provide technical leadership, identify architectural or technical improvement opportunities and recommend appropriate solutions. • Participate in Agile software development processes using Azure DevOps/VSTS. • Monitor solution delivery progress, identify and resolve technical issues and communicate status to business and I&IT management. • Support issue, risk and solution management activities. • Promote OPS I&IT architecture, design and development standards and best practices. Mandatory / Must-Have Qualifications • Demonstrated experience as a Technical Design Specialist, Solutions Designer, Solution Architect or similar role designing and enhancing complex, large-scale, high-profile and high-risk technology solutions. • Strong experience with cloud-based technologies including: • Containerization • Orchestration • Microservices • Working knowledge of healthcare data exchange standards, particularly FHIR - Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources . • Experience with one or more of the following technologies: • JavaScript ES6+ • TypeScript • Spring Framework • Quarkus • Angular 9+ • Angular Material • Node.js • HTML5 • CSS3 • Experience working with security architects and privacy SMEs to ensure application designs and physical deployments comply with security and data privacy requirements. Technical Qualifications • Experience defining application software, hardware and network requirements. • Experience leading or guiding software development teams. • Strong understanding of enterprise application architecture and design. • Experience with CI/CD and automated build/deployment processes. • Experience with Agile software development. • Experience with VSTS / Azure DevOps. • Strong understanding of application performance tuning and optimization. • Experience designing solutions that satisfy both functional and non-functional requirements. • Experience working with enterprise architects on application, interface, object and data models. • Experience creating low-level solution design and development artifacts. • Experience defining physical deployment architecture with infrastructure and operations teams. • Understanding of GO-ITS or comparable enterprise architecture/design standards. • Experience with Microsoft Office, Visio and SharePoint. Healthcare, Security and Architecture Experience • Knowledge of FHIR and healthcare interoperability standards. • Experience designing technology solutions in healthcare or similarly regulated environments. • Knowledge of privacy and security requirements associated with enterprise software development. • Experience collaborating with security architects, privacy specialists and enterprise architecture teams. • Ability to ensure application architecture meets organizational security, privacy and governance requirements.
