Teaching Assistant – Forward Deployed Engineer | Part-Time

About the Opportunity Masai School, in academic collaboration with a premier institute, is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant – Forward Deployed Engineer to support learners enrolled in an online software engineering program. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with learners to help them understand software engineering concepts, solve technical doubts, debug code, and apply their learning through practical, real-world projects. Institution: Masai School, in academic collaboration with a premier institute Program: Forward Deployed Engineering Mode: Fully Remote | India Engagement: Part-Time Time Commitment: 6–8 hours per week Key ResponsibilitiesTeaching & Doubt Resolution • Conduct weekly doubt-solving and tutorial sessions . • Help learners understand software engineering concepts, assignments, and coding challenges. • Simplify complex technical concepts using practical examples. • Support learners with programming, debugging, and implementation challenges. Technical & Academic Support • Assist learners with backend development, APIs, databases, system integration, and software engineering practices . • Help debug code and troubleshoot technical issues. • Guide learners in building and improving applications and technical solutions. • Answer technical questions through discussion forums, chats, and LMS platforms. Project & Industry Support • Help learners apply software engineering concepts through practical, real-world projects . • Guide learners on APIs, third-party integrations, cloud platforms, deployment, and production workflows. • Share relevant industry use cases and engineering best practices. • Help learners understand system design, scalability, testing, and debugging practices. Learner Engagement • Provide regular feedback and guidance to learners. • Encourage active participation in sessions and technical discussions. • Track learner progress and highlight challenges to the academic team. • Contribute feedback to improve the learning experience and course delivery. Candidate Requirements Must Have • 2+ years of hands-on experience in software engineering, full-stack development, solutions engineering, or a related technical role. • Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Go, or similar languages . • Good understanding of: • APIs and backend development • Databases and SQL • Software engineering fundamentals • Debugging and troubleshooting • Hands-on experience with Git, REST APIs, and software development workflows . • Prior experience in teaching, mentoring, training, or academic support . • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and practically. Good to Have • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure . • Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, and deployment workflows. • Understanding of system design and distributed systems. • Experience with AI/ML or Generative AI integrations . • Experience mentoring students, developers,
