Project Manager - EHV Transmission & Underground Cabling - Construction/Engineering

Job purpose & Scope: Manage and lead the Project as assigned ensuring that the project is completed within the budgeted cost, meeting all the quality and safety targets and within the schedule as per the plan. Major Areas of Responsibilities & Authority: - Project Execution: Lead end-to-end execution of EHV overhead transmission lines and complex underground cable laying projects. - Route Planning & Surveying: Oversee route surveys, right-of-way (RoW) clearances, profile optimization, and utility mapping for cable trenching. - Technical Oversight: Supervise cable jointing, termination, structure erection, stringing, horizontal directional drilling (HDD), and open-trenching works. - Contract & Claim Management: Manage high-value contracts, identify scope deviations, and negotiate variation orders or commercial claims. - Stakeholder Management: Liaison with government utilities, municipal bodies, highway authorities, and private landowners for statutory approvals. - Financial Controls: Manage multi-Crore project budgets, cash flows, financial forecasting, and subcontractor progress billing. - Commissioning & Handover: Direct pre-commissioning tests (like High Voltage AC/DC testing) and secure final grid synchronization and handover certificates. 1. Pre Execution Activities: - Collate LOI from the client, Study General Condition of Contract (GCC), Standard Condition of Contract (SCC), Technical Specification, Interpret conditions with special reference to execution and commercial terms. - Preparation of L2, L3 schedules. - Prepare and monitor control budget for execution of the project. - Formulate the material and logistic plan i.e setting up offices, Stores, IT infrastructure, Guesthouse, Vehicle plan, tool & tackles, safety equipment and material etc. - Ensure deployment of manpower as per the plan. - Conduct and collate survey & BOQ's reports from sites and coordinate with Engineering and Design for finalization of execution drawings. - Upload the approved BOQ's in ERP software. - Ensure that the Sales Order (SO) for materials as per plan is raised and ensure completion of FULL KIT as soon as possible. - Conduct flow meeting with Purchase team for materials. - Conduct meetings with site staff to ascertain progress, resource needs and problem areas. 2. Execution: - Verify the work done and approve the subcontractor's invoices to ensure payments. - Monitor material reconciliation reports with the subcontractors viz a viz obtained JMC with the client. - Conduct periodic reviews meetings and review the progress of the block, vis - z - vis plan, review material status, billing status, and take remedial measures if any. - Organize financial review to ascertain that execution is within the budget. - Ensure that the billing & collection is as per the cashflow plan. - Coordinate periodic monitoring of all stores, conduct of periodic audits of all stores and accounts at site. - Coordinate periodic inspections of all company property tool & tackles, Vehicles, etc. - Coordinate, liaison with equipment's suppliers, testing agencies, inspecting agencies etc. 3. Post Execution Activities: - Ensure timely submission of bills. - Ensure that the cost of execution is within the planned cost. - Maintain all records of material consumption Actual v/s Survey. - Responsible to ensure parity of the certified quantity by the client V/S sub-contractor quantity. - Responsible for material reconciliation of issued material v/s JMC certified material. - Submit periodical reports to Senior Management. - Periodical audits of the stores and accounts. - To oversee process in order to ensure all compliances are met for smooth project closure. 4. Statutory Compliance: - Coordinate & ensure all the insurances policies as per LOI are obtained and are live for the duration of the project along with all the licenses needed for smooth execution of the project. - Coordinate & ensure legal compliances are met at site i.e PF, ESIC, minimum wages etc. Person Specifications: - Essential Qualification: Bachelor in Engineering Or Diploma in Engineering [Electrical Specialization] - Desired Qualification: Bachelor in Engineering Or Diploma in Engineering [Electrical Specialization] - Experience: Minimum 15 YEARS - Industry Preference: EPC companies
