Operations Manager - Books Operations – Brazil (Cajamar-SP)

As an Operational Manager for Books business, you will lead a team of hourly associates through the daily rhythm of digital book production—from printing through binding, finishing, and ship-ready packaging. You will focus on four fundamentals: safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity. This is a floor-based leadership role in a production environment, not a corporate function. You will stay close to the equipment, the team, and the operation, with direct accountability for daily performance and customer outcomes. Key job responsibilities • Own the safety, quality, and productivity of your assigned production area, driving daily performance against targets. • Lead, coach, and develop a team of hourly associates, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning. • Analyze production forecasts and determine daily staffing and throughput requirements to meet overall site goals. • Partner with other Area Managers to balance workload across areas, ensuring smooth end-to-end flow. • Support all safety programs and regulatory compliance to guarantee a safe working environment for every associate. • Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives using Lean tools and root cause analysis. • Monitor machine performance, quality metrics (DPMO, waste rates), and escalate equipment issues to maintenance and engineering. • Contribute to launch readiness activities including equipment qualification, training deployment, and SOP development. A day in the life • 3x2 rotating schedule (3 days on / 3 days off, 2 days on / 2 days off). • 12-hour shifts (06:00–18:00 or 18:00–05:00). • Availability to work weekends and holidays on a regular basis About the team The International Make on Demand organization operates across multiple countries and brings together two businesses: Print on Demand and Merch on Demand.
