Position Description: Job Title: Senior Software Engineer | Java, Microservices, AWS and Spring Boot Position: Senior Software Engineer Experience: 4+Years Main location: Hyderabad/Bangalore/Chennai Position ID:J0826-1865 #LI-AS26 Employment Type: Full Time Position Description: CGI is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with 8+ years of IT experience and strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and AWS Cloud. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable enterprise applications in a challenging technical environment. The role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, ownership, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Your future duties and responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications using Java and Spring Boot. Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and Microservices following industry best practices. Build clean, efficient, reusable, and maintainable code. Design and implement cloud-native applications on AWS. Work with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, and CloudWatch. Contribute to application architecture, technical design, and distributed system solutions. Implement solutions focused on scalability, performance, availability, security, and reliability. Develop and support CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and/or Azure DevOps. Collaborate with DevOps teams on build, deployment, release, and automation activities. Troubleshoot application and production issues and perform root-cause analysis. Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding, security, and quality standards. Work closely with QA, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, DevOps, and other engineering teams. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives. Mentor junior developers and contribute to technical knowledge sharing and best practices. Take ownership of assigned technical deliverables and work independently with minimal supervision. Support continuous improvement, application modernization, and cloud migration initiatives. Required qualifications to be successful in this role: Must Have Skills: 4+ years of hands-on software development experience. Strong expertise in Core Java / J2EE. Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Microservices. Strong experience developing RESTful APIs. Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud. Experience with EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, and CloudWatch. Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and/or Azure DevOps. Strong understanding of distributed systems, design patterns, OOP, and software architecture. Experience with SQL/relational databases. Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
