Logging, JVM Basics, Design Patterns, Agile, GitHub Copilot Experience Range: 6 - 9 years Position Title : Senior Engineer Software (T07) Function: Roles & responsibilities: • Writes production code daily and conducts code reviews, holding a consistent quality bar across the team • Evaluates complex user requests and projects, and clarifies objectives and functional requirements for new or modified programs before building • Designs and develops software and business process solutions based on business needs, using specialized domain knowledge and developed business expertise • Improves and sustains existing systems and services, reducing defects and technical debt as well as adding capability • Conducts and prepares feasibility studies for new and existing applications, and makes decisions within general parameters with little supervision • Demonstrates and models the standards that deliver high-quality products and services, and guides more junior engineers in meeting them • Focuses on quality in all aspects of work follows established standards of excellence and continues to improve them rather than simply complying • Backend: builds Java microservices and REST APIs with Spring Boot clean layering, input validation, error handling, pagination and versioning, and secure-by-default endpoints • Frontend: builds ReactJS applications component architecture, state management, form and validation handling, accessibility basics, and responsive, mobile-first layouts • Data: writes and tunes SQL and NoSQL queries, designs schemas and indexes for the access patterns in use, and handles migrations safely • Integration: consumes and produces events and messages (Kafka, JMS / ActiveMQ), implementing retries, idempotency, and sensible error and dead-letter handling under guidance • Cloud & Delivery: packages services with Docker, deploys to Kubernetes, and maintains CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps with automated test and quality gates • Quality: owns testing for their own work across the pyramid JUnit / TestNG and Mockito, Rest-Assured or Karate for APIs, Jest for components, and Selenium / Playwright / Cucumber for end-to-end • Production: supports what they build with an SRE mindset structured logging, metrics and tracing, alert triage, debugging live issues, and participating in on-call • Understands client and stakeholder expectations, and recognizes and escalates issues that may affect delivery early rather than late • Participates in the hiring process submitting referrals, meeting candidates, attending recruiting events, presenting externally, or writing blogs • Contributes to team activities and collaborates across teams and domains to solve problems Experience Required: • 6 9 years as a full-stack developer across Java, web, and mobile development technologies • 6+ years programming experience in OOAD, Java / Java EE, web technologies, and REST APIs • Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot building microservices, and a solid grasp of dependency injection, configuration, and application lifecycle • Specialized knowledge of application servers Tomcat, Apache Jetty, Reactor Netty and how to configure and troubleshoot them • Specialized knowledge of database technologies including relational (Oracle, Azure SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra), with experience in data synchronization and offline storage for mobile • Specialized knowledge in UI / Web 2.0 development JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, SCSS, HTML5, AJAX, jQuery, NodeJS, ReactJS, AngularJS including responsive and mobile-first design principles • Strong expertise in design patterns, with a solid foundation in building scalable and maintainable applications across web and mobile platforms • Working knowledge of caching Redis or Varnish, cache-aside patterns, TTL and invalidation and of why and where to apply it • Exposure to event-driven development with Kafka or JMS / ActiveMQ, including message handling, retries, and idempotency • 2+ years with cloud platform services and application development using Microsoft Azure or GCP • Experience with containerization and orchestration Docker and/or Kubernetes is a strong plus • Specialized knowledge of CI/CD processes using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps, and confident daily use of Git and pull-request workflows • Specialized knowledge of automated unit testing with JUnit / TestNG and Jest, and automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber, Rest-Assured, and Karate; plus, mobile testing tools such as Appium or Espresso • Working knowledge of application performance profiling a slow endpoint, reading a stack trace or thread dump, spotting an N+1 query, and understanding JVM memory basics • Familiarity with observability practice structured logging, metrics, and distributed tracing and the ability to debug a production issue from them • Specialized knowledge of the full software development lifecycle and of Agile methodologies • Ability to understand client and stakeholder expectations, and to recognize and escalate issues that may affect delivery • Familiarity with
