Senior Payroll Officer

PAYOLL | FIFO OPPORTUNITY | BRISBANE - NTH QLD BASED We’re partnered with a well-established mining organisation in Queensland, seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to support site-based operations on a FIFO roster. This is a hands-on role managing payroll for their operation and assisting with the management of HRIS data reporting directly into the HR Manager and working closely with the broader site leadership team. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, while also supporting HR systems, reporting, and compliance across the full employee lifecycle. This is a permanent opportunity offering long-term stability, a strong salary package within a well-performing operation. Key Responsibilities • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 900 employees • Ensure accuracy across timesheets, allowances, and site-based pay conditions • Maintain and manage HRIS data, reporting, and system integrity • Support onboarding, mobilisation, and employee records management • Assist with compliance, audits, and payroll-related reporting • Liaise with site teams and leadership to resolve payroll and system queries About You • Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll in a high-volume environment • Strong background working with HRIS systems and large data sets • Experience within mining, resources, or heavy industry environments • High attention to detail with strong analytical capability • Confident working in a site-based, fast-paced environment • Strong communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels. • Degree qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Finance • 3+ years' Payroll experience in a high-volume environment • Exposure to industrial, mining, engineering, manufacturing or project-based environments will be - HIGHLY REGARDED • Experience with SAP – Highly regarded What’s on Offer • FIFO - Brisbane/ Site Arrangement • Highly Competitive salary plus benefits, bonus, and site-based allowances • Camp and meals provided • Long-term opportunity within a stable mining organisation • Strong team environment with consistent site condition How to Apply: Please apply directly or contact Ashleigh Ruddenklau at Ashleigh.r@stellarrecruitment.com.au for a confidential discussion.
