Job Description

Job Summary: The Business Analyst is responsible for providing comprehensive business analysis services to support diverse business and technological needs. This role involves gathering, documenting, and analyzing business requirements to enable effective I&IT solutions, applying business process improvements, and aligning with organizational methodologies. The analyst collaborates with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure clear understanding and communication of business needs within an onsite working environment. Responsibilities: • Lead and conduct business analysis to assess client business problems and opportunities. • Gather, document, and analyze business requirements using various techniques such as JAD sessions, interviews, and mockups. • Prepare and advise on business analysis policies, processes, best practices, and standards. • Develop business cases, cost-benefit analyses, feasibility studies, and strategies for I&IT initiatives. • Apply business process re-engineering concepts to promote improvements and cost-effective service delivery. • Conduct business modeling including use case, data modeling, process and data flow modeling, and business rules definition. • Monitor project progress, resolve issues, and report regularly to management and stakeholders. • Develop performance measures, traceability matrices, and conduct follow-up evaluations. • Support stakeholder engagement and communication activities, including training material development. • Align business analysis activities with project management methodologies, enterprise architecture, and gating processes. Required Skills & Certifications: • Demonstrated experience in business analysis supporting systems development using rules engines or business process automation platforms. • Proficiency in developing business models, use case models, conceptual and logical data models, process and data flow models, test cases, and defining business rules and non-functional requirements. • Experience leading business analysis in agile development projects. • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and consulting skills. • Ability to conduct stakeholder engagement and support privacy and security requirements, especially in healthcare or clinical contexts. • Experience with policy and business analysis within existing frameworks to minimize project time and cost. • Familiarity with quality assurance, system, and user acceptance testing strategies and documentation. • Knowledge of healthcare or clinical environments, including claim adjudication or pharmaceutical contexts. Preferred Skills & Certifications: • Experience with information retrieval packages and Information Management principles, policies, and practices. • Ability to translate business and data requirements into technology solution specifications. • Familiarity with a wide range of business analysis methods, tools, and techniques including business functional/event modeling and process mapping. • Experience with structured, object-oriented, and agile methodologies for user requirements. • Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards. • Experience developing performance measures for business analysis evaluation and follow-up. • Leadership experience managing teams, committees, or sub-groups. Special Considerations: • Position requires onsite presence at the designated office location. • Must comply with privacy and security standards relevant to healthcare and clinical software development. • Extensions permitted only within unused contract days or remaining funds; no additional funding beyond maximum contract value. Scheduling: • Work 7.25 hours per calendar day, Monday to Friday. • Standard working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding lunch breaks. • Onsite attendance required during scheduled hours.
