Head - Quality - Steel Manufacturing

We are seeking a dynamic, experienced, and results-oriented leader with a strong background in steel industry quality systems. Key Responsibilities: 1. Technical Knowledge: - Possess deep technical knowledge of Primary and Secondary steelmaking processes, Continuous Casting, Ingot Casting, and Rolling technologiesespecially for SBQ, Engineering Steels, Stainless Steels, and high-alloy steels. 2. Quality Management: - Manage quality requirements for melting special steels, super alloys, and stainless steels; exposure to advanced secondary refining methods such as VAR and ESR will be an added advantage. 3. Inspection Techniques: - Oversee inspection techniques including Ultrasonic Testing, Eddy Current Testing, and MPI. 4. Customer Expectations: - Ensure adherence to quality expectations of customers from Automotive, Forging, Oil & Gas, and Energy sectors. 5. Operational Coordination: - Monitor and lead all Quality Assurance activities in coordination with interfacing departments to ensure seamless operations. 6. Process Improvement: - Drive rejection reduction initiatives and ensure prompt response and resolution of customer complaints and technical queries. 7. Product Development: - Lead development, qualification, and stabilization of new products, especially special alloy steels. 8. Process Stabilization: - Monitor, evaluate, and stabilize internal production processes and quality systems across the plant. 9. Certification: - Ensure zero mix-up of materials, timely clearance, and accurate certification processes. 10. Continuous Improvement: - Drive continuous quality improvement initiatives across all processes and product lines. 11. Quality Management Systems: - Ensure adherence to Quality Management Systems such as ISO, TS, IATF, and QC tools. 12. Industry Standards: - Maintain a strong understanding of National and International Standards relevant to steel and alloy manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have: - More than 15 years of experience in Quality Management in steel manufacturing. - 5+ years of experience heading the Quality function in a large steel plant producing Alloy Steel / Stainless Steel (Cast & Rolled products). - Experience in Engineering Steels, Special Steels, Super Alloys, Stainless Steels via EAF/Blast Furnace, LRF, VD/RH, VOD/AOD, Continuous Casting, and Ingot Casting routes. - Strong technical understanding of Metallography, Microstructure, Heat Treatment, NDT, Steelmaking, Failure Analysis, Product Development, SQC, and TQM methodologies. Competencies Required: - Strong technical acumen and comprehensive knowledge of steelmaking processes. - Proven leadership capabilities with effective time management and conflict resolution skills (internal & external). - Excellent organizational skills with the ability to delegate, problem-solve, and communicate effectively. - Strong team-building, decision-making, and people management skills.
