Software Lead Engineer - Embedded/Avionics

Software Lead Engineer Embedded / Avionics Location : Bengaluru Experience : 6+ Years Work Mode : Work From Office (WFO) Interview Mode : Face-to-Face (F2F) Joining : Immediate Education : B.E./B.Tech/M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, ECE, EEE, Aerospace Engineering, Embedded Systems, or related fields Role Overview : We are looking for an experienced Software Lead Engineer with strong expertise in Embedded C/C++, safety-critical software development, software requirements, verification & validation, and DO-178C compliance. The ideal candidate will contribute to the complete software development lifecycle for avionics and other safety-critical real-time systems. Key Responsibilities : Requirements Engineering : - Elicit, analyze, document, and manage software requirements from customer and system specifications. - Derive low-level software requirements from system and high-level requirements. - Ensure requirements are complete, verifiable, traceable, and compliant with DO-178C. - Maintain bidirectional traceability between requirements, design, code, and test cases. - Work with tools such as Reqtify, DOORS, Polarion, or equivalent. Software Development: - Participate in the complete SDLC covering requirements, architecture, design, coding, integration, V&V, and certification support. - Develop embedded software using C/C++ for real-time systems. - Implement software architectures aligned with avionics and safety-critical requirements. - Conduct peer reviews of requirements, design documents, source code, and test procedures. Verification & Validation : - Develop software test cases and test procedures. - Execute unit, integration, and system-level testing. - Perform structural coverage analysis including Statement, Decision, and MC/DC coverage. - Support anomaly tracking, investigation, and resolution. DO-178C & Certification : - Contribute to certification artifacts including PSAC, SDP, SVP, SCMP, SQAP, SAS, and SCI. - Ensure compliance with applicable DO-178C objectives for DAL A/B/C/D projects. - Participate in audits, certification reviews, and compliance activities. Configuration & Quality Management : - Support software configuration management activities. - Maintain development records and lifecycle data. - Follow organizational quality processes, procedures, and safety-critical software standards. Required Skills : - Strong understanding of DO-178C and safety-critical software development. - Strong knowledge of SDLC processes. - Experience in software requirements elicitation, analysis, decomposition, and management. - Hands-on experience with Embedded C/C++. - Understanding of RTOS concepts. - Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies. - Experience in software testing and verification techniques. - Experience with Git/SVN or equivalent version-control systems.
