Job Description
InfraHire is looking for an Site Design Professional Engineer in Marianna, FL.
The Site Design Professional Engineer will prepare engineering plans, calculations, reports, and permit documents while coordinating with clients, project managers, regulatory agencies, and internal design teams. This position requires strong technical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple project responsibilities from planning through construction support.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and review civil engineering plans for site development, drainage, stormwater, grading, utilities, and related infrastructure projects.
• Perform engineering calculations for stormwater management, drainage, hydrology, hydraulics, site grading, and utility layouts.
• Develop construction drawings, technical reports, design documents, and permit packages.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software to create, review, and revise engineering plans.
• Support local, state, and federal permitting processes for civil/site development projects.
• Coordinate with project managers, clients, municipalities, counties, regulatory agencies, and internal design staff.
• Review project requirements, site constraints, codes, and regulations to ensure designs meet applicable standards.
• Participate in field visits, site assessments, data collection, and construction observation.
• Respond to agency comments, design changes, and project coordination issues.
• Communicate project progress, technical concerns, and design recommendations clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist with project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and quality control.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers, designers, CAD technicians, or support staff as needed.
• Ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with professional engineering standards. Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field required.
• Active Professional Engineer license required; Florida PE strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of civil engineering design experience preferred.
• Strong background in site development, land development, stormwater design, drainage, grading, utilities, and permitting.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD, or similar civil design software.
• Experience preparing engineering plans, calculations, reports, and permit documents.
• Knowledge of Florida civil design standards, local permitting requirements, DEP, water management districts, FDOT, or municipal regulations preferred.
• Ability to coordinate with clients, government agencies, contractors, project managers, and design teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
• Comfortable performing field visits, construction observation, and site assessments.
