Entry Level Highway Engineer

Whitman, Requardt & Associates is seeking an Entry Level Highway Engineer to join our Jacksonville, FL office. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team of engineers and will be responsible for the planning and design of transportation-related projects. This role involves supporting Senior Project Engineers in various tasks within the field of highway design.
Responsibilities:
• Develop roadway horizontal and vertical alignments.
• Conduct roadside evaluation and design.
• Design maintenance of traffic plans
• Prepare construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Develop technical reports.
Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 0-4 years of relevant experience.
• Relevant internship or job experience related to transportation engineering preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills at all organizational levels.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Capability to handle multiple assignments.
• Experience with design software tools such as MicroStation, Geopak, OpenRoads, InRoads, and AutoCAD preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred.

The expected compensation range for this position is $70,000.00 - $125,000.00. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
