Job Description
:
QE Automation Engineer (UI & API Automation):
TypeScript | Playwright | AI-Assisted Quality Engineering
Role Overview:
We are looking for a QE Automation Engineer to strengthen product quality across the testing lifecycle. The role focuses on AI-assisted test analysis and design, automated UI and API testing using TypeScript and Playwright, exploratory testing, defect management, and reliable quality validation within Agile sprints and release workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze stories, acceptance criteria, and specifications using AI-assisted tooling to identify test scenarios, coverage gaps, and risks before development begins.
- Design and author test cases with AI-assisted support, aligned with sprint deliverables and release scope.
- Build and maintain automated UI and API test coverage in TypeScript and Playwright within each sprint, using AI-assisted workflows for test design, code authoring, and suite maintenance; apply hands-on exploratory testing where it adds coverage that automation alone cannot provide.
- Report, track, and verify defects through resolution, coordinating with developers and product teams on priority and impact.
- Keep test case management and automation results in sync, ensuring automated coverage reflects test design and that results accurately represent CI state.
- Participate in sprint ceremonies as the QE voice for your team.
- Contribute to release sign-off activities, including stage verification, Allure results review, and release readiness confirmation.
- Participate in code reviews for automation contributions and contribute reusable components to the shared framework.
- Monitor automation health and defect trends using AI-powered analysis and raise quality concerns proactively.
Required Technical Skills:
- Solid experience covering the full testing lifecycle: requirements analysis, test design, manual and exploratory testing, defect management, and test automation.
- Proficiency in TypeScript and hands-on experience with Playwright for UI and API test automation.
- Experience with test case management platforms such as TestRail or equivalent.
- Familiarity with test reporting platforms such as Allure or equivalent.
- Experience working in an AI-assisted development environment such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent.
- Understanding of AI agent concepts and their practical application across the testing lifecycle.
- Experience working within CI/CD pipelines and version control systems such as Git.
- Experience in Agile delivery (Scrum or equivalent) as a QE team member.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to define what needs testing, not just execute what is assigned.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across developers, product, and delivery.
AI & Emerging QE Capabilities:
- Use AI-assisted tooling to support test scenario identification, test design, automation code authoring, and suite maintenance.
- Understand AI agent concepts and how they can be applied across the testing lifecycle.
Good to Have:
- Familiarity with cloud-based cross-browser testing platforms such as LambdaTest or equivalent.
- Familiarity with cloud secrets management and infrastructure access, such as AWS Secrets Manager or equivalent.
- Exposure to enterprise SaaS platforms such as ERP, CRM, CMS, or LMS systems in a QE context.
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or equivalent.
- Familiarity with performance or accessibility testing approaches.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and automation pipelines.
- Understanding of modern software architecture patterns such as microservices, REST, and GraphQL.
What Success Looks Like:
- Identify meaningful test scenarios, coverage gaps, and quality risks early in the development lifecycle.
- Maintain automated UI and API coverage aligned with sprint scope and test design.
- Keep test management records, automation results, and CI status consistent.
- Support release readiness through stage verification and review of Allure results.
- Improve automation health and proactively communicate defect trends and quality concerns.
