Introduction to Gallaway Cook Allan
Gallaway Cook Allan is a large Otago-based full-service law firm with offices in Dunedin and Wānaka. We act for commercial businesses, private clients, and local and regional government, across the South Island, nationally and internationally.
We are a cohesive team with a culture that allows each individual to bring their best self to work. We want every member of our team to enjoy their time at work, enjoy their colleagues and work together to provide the best possible service for our clients.
Our culture sets us apart. Our staff tell us that we are friendly, approachable, open to different ways of working, and that we value and trust each other to do the right thing. We value working hard, together, to deliver exceptional solutions for clients.
Our purpose of “together, doing good things with good people” goes much further than simply providing great legal services. It’s about who we are, how we do business and the impact we have on our community and the environment we live and operate in.
Our values of Integrity, Collaboration and Excellence guide everything we do.
About the Role
As our Business Systems Administrator, you'll support the day-to-day administration and optimisation of the firm's business systems, including our practice management and document management platforms.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Gathering user feedback and identifying opportunities for system and process improvements.
• Producing reports and supporting business intelligence initiatives, including Power BI reporting.
• Maintaining user guides, procedures and training materials.
• Supporting onboarding and training of employees on firm systems.
• Assisting with AI, automation and technology projects.
• Supporting strategic initiatives through data collation, analysis and project administration.
• Assisting with system enhancements, testing and implementation activities.
This is a role where no two days are the same, offering the opportunity to work with a wide range of people across the business while developing our systems, technology and project skills.
About You
You will be a collaborative, organised and solutions-focused individual who enjoys helping others and learning new technology.
Ideally, you will bring:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A strong customer service mindset and willingness to go the extra mile.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity.
• Confidence learning and supporting business systems and technology.
Experience with business systems, administration, reporting tools, process improvement initiatives or Power BI would be advantageous, but most importantly we're looking for someone with curiosity, initiative and a genuine desire to learn.
What We Offer
In return, we offer:
• Competitive remuneration.
• Southern Cross Health Insurance (Wellbeing Two).
• Additional leave benefits.
• Professional development opportunities.
• Modern technology, software and systems.
• A supportive and collaborative team environment.
• The opportunity to contribute to meaningful technology and business improvement initiatives.
• A central Dunedin office in our award-winning heritage building (or the opportunity to be based in Wānaka).
If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
