The Senior Marketing Manager:
The Senior Marketing Manager for Emerging Markets will spearhead the strategic brand management, portfolio lifecycle, and commercial execution for Wockhardt's pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical portfolios across targeted international regions (such as CIS, Africa, LATAM, South-East Asia, and Middle East / ROW). The role requires driving top-line growth, market penetration, and long-term equity of key brands by translating global clinical assets into localized, market-winning strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Brand & Portfolio Management:
- Own the comprehensive long-term and annual marketing plans for assigned therapy areas (e.g., Anti-infectives, Diabetology, Pain Management, Biologics) across key emerging markets.
- Formulate regional lifecycle strategies, product positioning, pricing guardrails, and portfolio rationalization tailored to diverse international market dynamics.
2. International Go-to-Market & Launch Execution:
- Drive successful multi-country product launches, partnering closely with regional sales teams, regulatory affairs, and local distribution partners.
- Develop robust promotional toolkits, medical communication collateral, and digital-first campaigns adaptable to local regulatory frameworks.
3. Market Insights & Analytics:
- Monitor global and regional market trends, competitor intelligence, pricing pressures, and prescription audit data (e.g., IQVIA) to identify whitespace opportunities and threat vectors.
- Translate complex data insights into actionable marketing mix adjustments.
4. Stakeholder & KOL Engagement:
- Build and nurture strong professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), medical societies, and academic institutions across emerging market clusters.
- Conceptualize and drive high-impact Continuous Medical Education (CME) programs, advisory boards, and international symposia.
5. Cross-functional & Regional Alignment:
- Work seamlessly with supply chain, regulatory, medical affairs, and international commercial teams to ensure uninterrupted product availability and compliant promotional materials.
- Align country-specific sales forces on brand priorities, tactical execution cadences, and key performance metrics via training and cycle meetings.
6. Budget & P&L Accountability:
- Manage regional marketing budgets efficiently, ensuring high return on investment (ROI) across promotional activities, digital initiatives, and market research.
Desired Candidate Profile:
1. Education:
- Full-time MBA / Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) in Marketing.
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Science (B.Sc) is strongly preferred.
2. Experience:
- 8 to 14 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical brand management, with at least 3 to 5 years handling International / Emerging Markets (ROW, CIS, Africa, or LATAM).
- Proven track record of managing specialized Rx portfolios or hospital-segment products across multi-country landscapes.
3. Key Skills & Competencies:
- Deep understanding of international regulatory guidelines, market access barriers, and cultural nuances in emerging economies.
- Exceptional strategic thinking combined with hands-on executional capability.
- Strong cross-cultural communication, stakeholder management, and agency handling skills.
- Comfort with international data platforms (IQVIA, MIDAS, etc.) and quantitative market sizing.
