Job Description
Salary: £50,000 - 65,000 per year
Requirements:
• Product management experience in a cross-functional Product and Engineering environment
• Experience owning a product area, platform, technical domain or roadmap
• Strong product judgement and ability to turn strategic goals into prioritised problems and deliverable outcomes
• Comfort working closely with engineers on technically complex products, systems or platform capabilities
• Ability to understand technical concepts, architecture and trade-offs without being an engineer
• Strong discovery and problem-framing skills, with a focus on understanding problems before choosing solutions
• Comfort using data and KPIs to set goals, make decisions and measure impact
• Ability to prioritise decisively and say no when needed
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Comfort operating autonomously in a fast-moving environment
• Insurance experience is useful but not essential; curiosity, ambition and an ability to learn quickly are valued Responsibilities:
• Own the direction and roadmap for our Core Services stream, translating company priorities into goals and plans for strengthening our technology and platform capabilities
• Work with engineers, stakeholders and other teams to understand and validate problems, constraints and desired outcomes
• Own and prioritise the stream backlog, weighing impact, effort, risk, complexity and dependencies
• Build understanding of our systems, architecture and technical constraints, and partner with Engineering on platform, infrastructure, integration, optimisation, AI and MCP initiatives
• Connect technical investments to customer and business value by asking questions, challenging assumptions and assessing trade-offs
• Establish domain goals and success criteria, track stream KPIs and evaluate the impact of shipped initiatives
• Use data, operational insight and stakeholder feedback to assess progress and adapt the roadmap
• Collaborate with Product Managers and other teams to identify dependencies, roadmap collisions and downstream impacts
• Build stakeholder relationships, involve the right people in discovery and decisions, and explain prioritisation choices
• Work with our cross-functional team to turn well-defined problems into shipped outcomes
• Ensure Core Services has a clear, outcome-led roadmap; work is understood and measurable; dependencies are identified early; and the team builds deep ownership of our core systems Technologies:

We are hiring a Product Manager for Core Services at Waggel, with long-term ownership of the technology and platform capabilities that support and evolve our business. You will work with a dedicated cross-functional team and collaborate with Engineering leadership and teams across Product, Operations, Marketing and Data. The role is remote and pays £50,000–£65,000 per year.
