Senior C# and Web Developer

Introduction Location: Bryanston | Hybrid Job Type: Permanent Salary: Market Related Senior C# and Web Developer Our client is seeking a senior C# software developer with strong experience across desktop, web and mobile application development. The role includes maintaining existing C# Windows Forms products and developing modern applications using .NET, ASP.NET Core, Blazor and .NET MAUI. The developer will also work with Entity Framework, Microsoft SQL Server, SQLite and RESTful services. The applicant must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, take initiative in technical problem-solving and understand end-user requirements. Strong C# experience is essential, together with the ability to work across modern and legacy codebases. Previous experience in engineering software or other data-intensive technical systems will be advantageous. Duties & Responsibilities Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain C# desktop, web and mobile applications as required by assigned tasks on the company development board. • Maintain and enhance existing Windows Forms solutions while contributing to modern .NET, Blazor and .NET MAUI applications. • Develop and maintain database elements, including tables, relationships, triggers, views and stored procedures. • Develop and maintain RESTful service integrations and application data-access services. • Design and maintain reliable offline-capable application features, local data storage and data synchronisation. • Design clean, responsive and accessible user interfaces for desktop, web and mobile use. • Improve and optimise application performance, reliability and resource usage. • Diagnose and resolve application, database and platform-specific defects across supported environments. • Test own code and software systems, with a strong focus on negative testing and regression prevention. • Write robust, maintainable code that complies with the company's naming conventions, coding standards and documentation requirements. • Assist with requirements analysis, solution design and technical planning where required. • Prepare user and technical documentation, provide end-user support and work effectively within the development team. Qualifications: • Degree in Computer Science | Computer Engineering | Information Science or a related technical discipline. Minimum Experience Required: • Min of 10 years' professional development experience in C#, including substantial experience in Windows Forms, modern .NET application development, Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, Entity Framework and RESTful services. Experience in engineering software will be advantageous. The successful applicant should demonstrate a solid track record in the following: Full-stack C# development experience across web and mobile applications. Frameworks: • .NET Core (8 or later) Technologies: • ASP.NET Core and Blazor. • .NET MAUI and Blazor Hybrid. • RESTful web services. • Entity Framework and Entity Framework Core. • Microsoft SQL Server and SQLite. • Strong experience in Entity Framework Core and LINQ. • Strong database design experience with Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL and SQLite. • Experience developing offline-capable applications, including local persistence, data synchronisation and error recovery. • Experience integrating RESTful services and working with JSON-based data exchange. • Strong understanding of asynchronous programming, concurrency, cancellation and responsive user-interface design. • Ability to design responsive and accessible interfaces using Razor components, HTML and CSS. • Ability to diagnose application performance, logging, data-access and cross-platform issues. • Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms. • Strong knowledge of professional software engineering practices across the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, Git-based source control, build processes and testing. • Ability to propose software improvements and new features using clear technical documentation, flow charts and presentations. Experience with the following will be advantageous: • Android application debugging, packaging and deployment. • Continuous integration and automated release pipelines.
