Job Description
Join our Technology team to take ownership of quality across Upscale’s growing, multi-environment SaaS platform.
We’re seeking a hands-on QA Engineer who is structured, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently and able to collaborate closely with Product, Design and Engineering. You’ll be responsible for testing new features, validating bug fixes, supporting regression cycles and improving release confidence across development, staging and production.
The role covers a broad platform spanning web, mobile, backend, APIs, analytics, notifications, media libraries, attachments, shareable micro-sites and AI-assisted content workflows running across multiple client environments on AWS. You’ll work directly with product managers, designers and developers to ensure requirements are understood, edge cases are covered and releases are stable. We’re looking for someone who can be the quality owner for the product, rather than simply executing assigned test cases.
Key responsibilities
• Own QA testing across the product as the primary QA function.
• Create, maintain and execute test cases for web, mobile, backend, API and platform features.
• Review product requirements, technical documents and designs to understand expected behaviour.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, integration and user acceptance testing.
• Test across development, staging and production release flows.
• Validate APIs using tools such as Postman, GraphQL Explorer or similar.
• Test user roles, permissions, client configurations, feature flags, notifications, file uploads, analytics, tracking and content workflows.
• Reproduce, document and track bugs clearly, including steps to reproduce, expected results, actual results, screenshots, videos, logs and environment details.
• Work with developers to verify fixes and prevent regressions.
• Support release readiness by confirming that full versions are stable before staging and production deployment.
• Maintain QA documentation, test plans, regression suites and release checklists.
• Identify gaps in test coverage and suggest practical improvements to QA processes.
• Help improve product quality across multiple client environments and configurations.
• Help ensure new features are tested thoroughly before release and regression risks are identified earlier.
• Ensure bug reports are clear, actionable and easy for developers to reproduce.
• Help improve QA coverage across core workflows and client environments.
• Build greater confidence as releases move through development, staging and production.
• Help Product and Engineering develop a clearer shared understanding of release quality. Required skills
• 3+ years of hands-on professional QA experience in a software product or SaaS environment.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices.
• Experience testing SaaS platforms, web applications, mobile applications and APIs.
• Comfortable reading product specifications, technical documentation and API documentation.
• Experience with bug tracking and project management tools such as Jira, Linear, ClickUp, Notion or similar.
• Experience testing REST or GraphQL APIs.
• Ability to write clear, structured test cases and bug reports.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to think through edge cases.
• Good communication skills and confidence working with developers, product managers and designers.
• Comfortable working independently in fast-moving release cycles across development, staging and production environments.
• Experience with automated testing tools such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Appium or similar.
• Experience with mobile QA across iOS and Android.
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms or client-specific environments.
• Experience testing analytics, notifications, file uploads, media libraries, content management or AI-powered features.
• Familiarity with CI/CD release processes.
• Experience with AWS or serverless environments.
Upscale is a dynamic global scale-up technology company building a SaaS platform that helps sales and product teams manage, distribute, personalise and track digital content across clients and users. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers and developers across a fast-moving, multi-environment platform.
This is a hands-on role with significant ownership of product quality, giving you the opportunity to influence how QA processes, test coverage and release practices develop as the platform grows. We’re looking for someone curious, structured, independent and practical. You should be comfortable understanding complex workflows, spotting inconsistencies and communicating clearly across Product, Design and Engineering.
We encourage ownership, collaboration and continuous improvement. Success in the role means helping the wider team ship better software with fewer surprises: testing new features thoroughly, catching regression risks earlier, producing clear and actionable bug reports, improving QA coverage across core workflows and client environments, and creating greater confidence around release quality.
