Open-Source Software Engineer (DevOps)

Description We are seeking a skilled Open-Source Software Engineer (DevOps) to join our dynamic team in India. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in implementing DevOps practices and working with open-source technologies to streamline software development and deployment processes. Responsibilities • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient DevOps solutions for open-source projects. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration of software applications. • Monitor and optimize system performance, reliability, and availability of applications in production. • Automate deployment processes and ensure CI/CD pipelines are efficient and effective. • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of coding standards and best practices. • Contribute to the documentation of infrastructure, processes, and best practices for the team. Skills and Qualifications • 7-17 years of experience in software development and DevOps practices. • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting. • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). • Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java. • Solid understanding of version control systems, particularly Git. • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef. • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI. • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) to ensure system health and performance. • Strong experience with build and package management tools such as: Maven, Gradle, npm/yarn, Artifactory/Nexus. • Experience with GitHub Actions, workflow orchestration, reusable workflows, and deployment automation. • Experience managing software dependencies and package repositories. • Experience implementing and enforcing Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) practices. • Strong working knowledge of: Checkmarx (SAST) or similar, Software Composition Analysis (CxOne SCA or similar) tools, SonarQube • Knowledge of open-source license compliance and OSS governance practices. • Experience with dependency scanning, vulnerability management, and remediation. • SBOM (Software Bill of Materials) generation and management • Experience with: Node.js, Bash/Shell scripting • Experience with: Docker, Docker Compose, Container security scanning, GitHub Container Registry (GHCR) or equivalent artifact repositories. • Knowledge of GitHub Advanced Security capabilities is highly preferred. • Exposure to public cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), enterprise vulnerability management platforms such as Wiz or Aqua.
