Marriott Tech Accelerator is an ANSR entity incorporated exclusively for providing services to Marriott International. Role Title: Software Engineer Position Summary: Marriott is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Hotel Websites (HWS) team. This backend-focused role will contribute to Java and Spring Boot applications, REST APIs, integrations, and supporting services. The engineer will collaborate with experienced team members to implement features, troubleshoot issues, write tests, and strengthen backend engineering skills. The role primarily focuses on backend engineering while providing opportunities to contribute to integrations with CMS and digital experience platforms, including Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). Key Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain backend features using Java, Spring Boot, and supporting technologies. • Translate requirements and acceptance criteria into application logic and services. • Build and maintain REST APIs and integrate with databases or other systems. • Write readable, maintainable code that follows established team standards. • Develop and maintain unit and integration tests to support code quality and application reliability. • Investigate defects, review logs, troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes with team support. • Collaborate with AEM/CMS engineers to support digital experience platform initiatives. • Contribute to integrations and enhancements involving AEM/CMS platforms and backend services. • Participate in code reviews and apply feedback to improve code quality. • Collaborate with front-end developers, quality engineers, DevOps, product owners, and other team members. • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives. • Support application reliability, performance, security, logging, and error handling. • Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing. • Learn and apply new backend technologies and engineering practices. • Demonstrate ownership of assigned work, proactively communicate risks and blockers, and contribute to a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. • Contribute to deployments, monitoring, and operational support of cloud-hosted applications and services. Required Qualifications: • 2+ years of professional software development experience with Java and backend technologies. • Experience building REST APIs , working with relational databases, and developing microservices-based applications. • Hands-on experience developing enterprise applications using Java and Spring Boot . • Basic understanding of cloud-native application development, containerization, and deployment concepts. • Understanding of source control, debugging, testing, and software development practices. • Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. • Ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively in a team. Preferred Skills and Qualifications: • Familiarity with REST API development, JSON, validation, and exception handling. • Exposure to Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, or similar libraries. • Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, and data modeling. • Experience with JUnit, Mockito, Postman, or similar testing tools. • Familiarity with Git, GitHub, Maven or Gradle, and CI/CD concepts. • Understanding of API security, authentication, authorization, and secure coding practices. • Exposure to Docker, cloud platforms, microservices, messaging, caching, or monitoring. • Exposure to CMS or digital experience platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) is a plus. • Experience integrating enterprise platforms, CMS solutions, or third-party services with backend applications is preferred. • Understanding of Agile practices and tools such as Jira or Confluence.
