Embedded Software Engineer

Working in an Agile environment, you will collaborate with software, hardware, systems, quality, product, and clinical teams to solve complex technical challenges. Your work will contribute directly to high-quality healthcare solutions and better patient outcomes worldwide. What You'll Do • Design, develop, test, and maintain embedded software applications • Deliver automated and manual verification against functional and performance requirements • Contribute to software architecture, design reviews, and technical discussions • Document software designs, implementation decisions, and test outcomes • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and customer-reported issues • Partner with software, hardware, systems, and quality engineering teams • Deliver reliable software within agreed project timelines • Improve development processes, tools, and engineering practices • Balance competing priorities while creating value for stakeholders • Take ownership of tasks and occasionally lead smaller workstreams What You Bring • A bachelor’s degree in software engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent practical knowledge • Commercial software application development background • Proficiency in C++ and/or Python for application and test software development • Knowledge of Agile development environments • Understanding of software design, code reviews, debugging, and testing • Familiarity with GitHub, Bitbucket, Jira, or Confluence • Understanding of CI/CD principles and automated build environments • Ability to translate customer and product requirements into technical solutions • Clear written and verbal communication Nice to Have • 3+ years developing embedded C/C++ software using object-oriented programming • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub workflow actions • Experience developing and integrating cellular modules, including modem communication, network registration, and connectivity troubleshooting • Exposure to medical devices, healthcare, or another regulated industry • Experience with Test-Driven Development and automated testing methodologies What Sets You Apart • Collaborative Approach : Build trusted relationships across disciplines and contribute openly to shared outcomes • Curious Mindset : Explore new technologies and develop an understanding of complex systems • Quality Focus : Take pride in creating reliable, maintainable software • Ownership : Follow through on commitments and confidently lead defined pieces of work • Continuous Improvement : Look for practical ways to improve processes and engineering practices • Adaptability : Navigate changing priorities while maintaining focus on meaningful outcomes Why Join Resmed At Resmed, you will work at the heart of medical device innovation, developing embedded software that supports life-changing diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment solutions.
