Senior Coordinator - Testing and Data Analysis

Position Title Senior Coor - Testing and Data Analysis Custom Job Purpose This position exists to analyze test results, prepare reports, maintain longitudinal student achievement data, and provide other information as necessary to assist principals and others in the documentation of student learning gains for school improvement. Essential Functions of this Job Consults with school principals and assistant principals in the selection, and administration, scoring and interpretation of locally developed tests. Conducts content validity analysis and reliability studies on locally developed tests as needed. Develop and implement appropriate procedures to identify, access and store data in network and PC environments identified as necessary for district-wide functions. Assists with monitoring of state and district testing programs. Works with school-based leadership team as a resource for data analysis and interpretation of test results. Assists in generating profiles of testing information and acts as a resource in their use. Develops tables and charts, and uses a variety of software to generate reports. Presents test results to school and district staff in oral and written formats.Provides data and technical assistance to schools as necessary for the development of their school improvement plans. Responds to questions and calls in relation to test administration and interpretation and utilization of results for school improvement. Prepares end of the year report on school attainment of goals stated in their School Improvement Plan. Addresses requests for test reports. Provides information to schools regarding classroom assessment and district and state accountability. Complies with best practices and procedures and shares them with schools as appropriate. Identifies and shares national and state reports with district and school staff. Assists in coordinating workshops and activities on school accountability and data issues. Uses specialized software to bank test items. In consultation with other staff, assists in organizing and coordinating pilot and field-test activities. Assists in processing and analyzing resulting data. Conducts trainings pertaining to Department of Education membership file corrections. Assists school-based personnel with prior Year Data, Student Data Updates and Assessment Data Corrections. Conducts trainings with school personnel on the implementation and use of progress monitoring systems. Acts as liaison between district and progress monitoring vendor. Maintains database of student transfers between school sites for progress monitoring purposes. Prepares progress monitoring data for Genesis system and uploads results to Department of Education for School Improvement postings. Essential Functions of this Job (cont.) Non-Essential Functions of this Job Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's Degree in an education-related area. Training, coursework, and/or experience in testing, measurement, and data analysis. Experience in managing and/or working collaboratively with staff. Experience in school administration and classroom teaching. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough understanding of the district's strategic plan, knowledge of school accountability terminology and best practices. Knowledge of tests and measurement theory and practice. Ability to interpret statutes, policies, and procedures. Ability to interpret test scores and measurement terminology to administrators, teachers, parents, and other citizenry. Skill in using a variety of micro and mainframe computer software. Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with school and district program and technical staff and with the public. Ability to work collaboratively across departments and divisions. Bilingual/biliterate preferred. Work Context Requires some sitting and standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires work with internal and external contacts, and with the public. Physical Environment Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting for the majority of the day, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing up to 20 pounds.
