Finance & Accounting Manager - D2C

Finance & Accounting Manager D2C Brand (6-8 yrs) Role Overview: We are looking for a hands-on Finance & Accounting Manager to manage the finance and accounting function for a fast-growing D2C business. The role will be responsible for ensuring strong financial controls, accurate accounting, timely reporting and effective working-capital management while partnering closely with the business on financial decision-making. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in FMCG / D2C / Consumer / Retail businesses, be comfortable working in a high-growth environment and have a strong understanding of inventory, marketplace/e-commerce accounting and multi-channel revenues. Accounting & Controllership: - Own day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate and timely books of accounts. - Manage month-end and year-end closing, reconciliations and financial reporting. - Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, GST, TDS and other statutory requirements. - Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants and external stakeholders. - Strengthen internal controls, accounting processes and SOPs. MIS & Business Finance: - Prepare monthly MIS, P&L, balance sheet and cash-flow reports. - Provide meaningful analysis on revenue, gross margins, contribution margins, expenses and profitability. - Track budgets vs. actuals and highlight key variances and business drivers. - Develop dashboards and reports for management to support decision-making. - Work closely with business teams to improve profitability and cost efficiency. D2C / E-commerce Finance: - Manage accounting and reconciliations across D2C website, marketplaces and other sales channels. - Reconcile payment gateways, marketplace settlements, returns, refunds, discounts and promotional spends. - Ensure accurate revenue recognition and channel-wise profitability. - Track commissions, logistics costs, COD charges, marketplace deductions and other channel-related expenses. Inventory & Working Capital: - Monitor inventory accounting, stock reconciliation and provisions for slow-moving / obsolete inventory. - Work closely with supply chain and operations teams on inventory planning and working capital. - Monitor receivables, payables and cash conversion cycle. - Ensure timely vendor reconciliations and payment planning. - Identify opportunities to improve cash flows and working-capital efficiency. Business Partnering: - Partner with founders, leadership and business teams on financial planning and decision-making. - Support pricing, product profitability, cost analysis and new business initiatives. - Provide financial insights to help improve margins and overall business performance. Candidate Profile: - 5-8 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts. - CA / CMA / MBA Finance preferred; strong candidates from a relevant commerce/finance background may also be considered. - Experience in D2C, FMCG, Consumer, Retail or E-commerce is strongly preferred. - Strong understanding of accounting, GST, TDS, audits and financial controls. - Hands-on experience with MIS, P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and working capital. - Experience managing marketplace / e-commerce reconciliations will be an advantage.
