Senior DevOps Engineer

Remote anywhere in Australia | Permanent | Senior Individual Contributor We’re looking for a highly experienced Senior DevOps & Platform Engineer to take genuine ownership of a growing technology company’s cloud platform. This isn’t a role where you’ll inherit a mature environment and simply keep it running. You’ll have the opportunity to design and build the platform properly , taking an existing cloud footprint and evolving it into a secure, scalable and deliberately engineered multi account environment. You’ll own decisions across cloud architecture, IaC, CI/CD, developer experience, security, observability and reliability, with the freedom to set the technical standards for the platform. What you’ll do • Build and manage infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code with strong module, state and review practices • Design and evolve AWS cloud architecture , including multi account environments, Landing Zones, guardrails, identity, networking and shared services • Own container and Kubernetes based infrastructure supporting production applications • Design and improve CI/CD pipelines , release processes and developer tooling • Improve developer productivity through faster builds, better environments and automation • Own observability across logging, metrics, tracing and alerting • Embed security across cloud, identity, networking, containers, applications and software supply chains • Improve resilience, backup, recovery, performance and cloud cost management • Support infrastructure for complex data platforms and customer deployed environments What you’ll bring • Deep hands on experience building cloud and DevOps platforms from the ground up • Strong AWS experience across architecture, account structure, Landing Zones, IAM, networking and governance • Advanced Infrastructure as Code experience • Strong CI/CD and developer productivity experience • Containers and/or Kubernetes experience • Genuine software engineering capability and the ability to write code, not just configuration • Strong understanding of security across infrastructure, cloud, identity, applications and data • Ability to make architecture decisions independently and explain the trade offs behind them • Experience working closely with senior software engineers and technical stakeholders Highly regarded Experience with data platforms or technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Presto/Trino, Iceberg or Airflow would be highly regarded, as would experience with Scala or another JVM language. Experience across Azure, hybrid or multi cloud environments , customer deployed software and regulated environments such as ISO 27001, SOC 2 or Essential Eight would also be valuable. Why join?
