Quality Assurance - Senior Associate

Role Overview We are seeking a skilled QA Automation Engineer with 4 to 12 years of experience in test automation using Selenium with Java. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical and programming skills, with hands-on experience in database testing and Unix environments. Exposure to modern automation tools and cloud platforms is an added advantage. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, enterprise-grade automation frameworks using Selenium and Playwright • Develop automated test suites covering: • Functional • Regression • API • End-to-End scenarios Develop and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, and end-to-end testingCollaborate with business analysts, developers, and QA teams to understand requirements and translate them into automation solutionsPerform test planning, execution, and defect tracking activitiesWork with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) for automation integrationValidate data integrity by performing database testing using SQL queriesExecute tests in Unix/Linux environments and support deployment validationsAnalyze test results, identify issues, and provide detailed reports to stakeholdersContinuously improve automation frameworks and testing processes Required Skills & Qualifications • 4–12 years of experience in QA automation • Strong hands-on experience with: • Selenium and any other automation tool • Java programming • Agile/Scrum methodologies Good understanding of: • Automation frameworks (TestNG, JUnit, BDD/Cucumber – preferred) • SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies Strong SQL expertise (mandatory)Solid foundation in: • OOP principles • Data structures & algorithms • Design patterns for automation frameworks Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience with database testing (SQL)Working knowledge of Unix/Linux commands and environmentsExperience with version control tools like GitFamiliarity with defect tracking tools (JIRA, ALM, etc.) Good To Have Skills • Exposure to modern automation tools such as Playwright • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) • Knowledge of API testing tools (Rest Assured/Postman) • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices • Understanding of containerization or microservices-based architectures • Domain knowledge in Finance / Banking (e.g., financial transactions, data validation, reconciliation, regulatory workflows) Soft Skills • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced Agile environment • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality results Education • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Role Type • Individual contributor / Senior QA Automation Engineer (based on experience) About State Street Across the globe, institutional investors rely on us to help them manage risk, respond to challenges, and drive performance and profitability.
