Job Description

Minimum qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience. • 14 years of experience in networking technologies across the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model. • 10 years of experience in leading teams. Preferred qualifications: • Proven track record in securing colocation, dark fiber, and high-capacity network services to drive regional infrastructure growth. • Understanding of edge and global carrier networks to optimize Google Global Infrastructure (GGI's) connectivity footprint. • Ability to derive strategic clarity and build consensus across ambiguous regulatory, technical, and business landscapes. • Excellent quantitative and presentation skills used to influence stakeholders and lead data-driven acquisition strategies. About the job Google's infrastructure needs go far beyond server computers. As Google's products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future -- everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost-effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with specific project teams on negotiating agreements, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting agreement recommendations to our Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business. As the Head of Global Network Acquisition (GNA), South Asia Region and Oceania Strategic Negotiators, you'll be a pivotal leader, driving Google's network infrastructure strategy in a critical growth market. You'll lead a team of expert negotiators, empowering them to secure essential network infrastructure, including managed optical services, dark fiber, colocation, and submarine cable infrastructure. Your strategic goal and negotiation experience will directly impact Google's bottom line, potentially saving millions in operational costs, and unlocking new market opportunities. Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible. Responsibilities • Lead and mentor the GNA-South Asia and Oceania Strategic Negotiators, overseeing commercial negotiations and vendor relationships. • Develop and execute strategic plans for network infrastructure acquisition, ensuring alignment with Google's growth objectives. • Negotiate complex agreements for managed optical services, dark fiber, colocation space, and submarine cable infrastructure. • Cultivate partnerships with government and regulatory bodies to advance Google's network infrastructure goals. • Present recommendations and updates to Google leadership.
