Senior Software Engineer, Core, Lavaflow

Minimum qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience. • 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages. • 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture. • Experience with distributed systems, software architecture, or system design. Preferred qualifications: • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field. • 5 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. • 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role. Lavaflow is the next generation experiment data processing solution, which is scalable, efficient, and easy-to-use. It is built as a Google-wide standardized solution to make it generally available to users, and the de-facto way for users to onboard Rasta, an experiment analysis platform. In this role, you will realize to full potential and make Agentic debuggability usable end-to-end for our clients to automate root-cause analysis and rapidly resolve production friction. You will require in-depth knowledge on how distributed systems work and connect those dots. The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. Responsibilities • Take full ownership of the AI-motivated Lavaflow debugging roadmap, evolving Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and existing workflows into production-grade agentic tools. • Build autonomous skills, agent solutions, and deep tracing tools into the Lavaflow ecosystem. • Collaborate directly with client teams like BARD to enable automated end-to-end issues debugging, minimizing mean time to resolve and developer friction.
