The Notifications squad is a multidisciplinary group of engineers working across client experiences, infrastructure, and machine learning to make sure every notification Discord sends is high signal and high value. As a Software Engineer on Notifications, you'll own well-defined projects end-to-end, sweat the details of a great user experience, and grow your craft alongside a team that ships reliably and cares deeply about quality. This person will report to the Senior Engineering Manager for Growth. What You'll Be Doing Improve client device experiences for receiving notifications and tailoring notification preferences Build the platform that enables all other teams in the company to send delightful notifications while delivering the maximum value to our users. Pair with Machine Learning engineers to optimize global notification signals and quality. Maintain a high quality bar for our platform’s operational health and client performance Pair with Product and Design leads to find the right solutions that balance delight, speed of delivery and impact What you should have 2+ years of professional software engineering experience Proficiency in one or more of Python, Elixir, or Typescript with eagerness to learn new languages and skills A track record of delivering high quality software reliably and on time Attention to detail and a quality-first mindset: you sweat the right details and catch your own bugs b
