Financial Analyst

For Trek Bicycle Corporation we are looking for a Financial Controller. It's a real hands-on business partner with expert spreadsheet skills and a helicopter view who can streamline processes and support the business with up to date financial information and insights. The European Central office is located in Harderwijk. Your valuable role will be: • Financial processing & analysis • Monthly close activities of the European Central Office • Managing fixed asset register, intercompany accounts, accruals and pre-payments • Timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts • Own and improve inventory matching process for both intercompany and third-party vendors • Complete VAT and Intrastat returns in time for The Netherlands and Belgium • Manage other local financial, regulatory & tax reporting for The Netherlands and Belgium • Manage employee benefits to balance tax efficiency (WKR) and employee engagement • Develop great processes & tools to drill down into product variances & drive visibility of freight tariffs & costs across Europe • Proactively seek out opportunities for lower cost or higher margins through the business • Streamline calculations, reporting processes and internal checks & balances through automation • Act as primary liaison with HQ team in USA on all Costing and Inventory variances • Act as spokesperson of the European controllers for supply chain expenses (warehousing and distribution) Ideal candidate: • Bachelor degree in accounting or finance with at least 2 years of experience in a similar role • Knowledge of Dutch VAT processes. Knowledge of Belgian VAT and other regulatory processes is preferred • Advanced spreadsheet skills; an assessment is part of the procedure • Familiarity with international businesses operating on ERP systems; JDE experience is preferred • Flexible, accurate and strong analytical skills • Strong written/verbal communications skills in Dutch & English • Living nearby Harderwijk (max. 40 km) or willing to relocate Trek offers: An informal, challenging and motivating company culture, where initiative and pro-activity are highly valued.
