Senior Structural Engineer – Building Structures North Sydney | Landmark Projects | $120k–$155k+ | Pathway to Associate An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join the established North Sydney team of a leading Australian-owned engineering consultancy with an international presence. The business delivers many of Australia’s most significant and technically challenging projects, working with major developers, government clients, architects and contractors across: • Commercial and mixed-use developments • High-rise and residential buildings • Education and healthcare facilities • Data centres and industrial projects • Major public and infrastructure-related structures With a substantial forward pipeline, the team is continuing to grow and is seeking an accomplished structural engineer who wants exposure to larger projects, greater technical responsibility and a genuine pathway towards Associate and broader leadership opportunities . The Opportunity You will take a key role in the design and delivery of complex building projects from early concept through detailed design, documentation and construction. The consultancy offers the technical calibre and project exposure associated with a top-tier firm, but without the same layers of red tape. Its relatively flat structure provides senior engineers with direct access to directors, clients and key project decisions—allowing you to take meaningful ownership of your work and progress based on capability. Your responsibilities will include: • Leading the structural design and delivery of major building projects • Undertaking structural analysis and design across reinforced concrete and steel structures • Managing projects and technical packages from concept through construction • Developing practical, innovative and commercially effective engineering solutions • Preparing and reviewing calculations, specifications, reports and technical documentation • Coordinating closely with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary consultants • Managing programmes, budgets, resourcing and technical deliverables • Building strong relationships and working directly with clients • Reviewing work and providing technical guidance to junior and intermediate engineers • Mentoring developing engineers and contributing to broader team capability • Participating in design reviews, project strategy and team development About You This position will suit an experienced structural engineer with a strong background in the Australian buildings market who is ready to take greater ownership of projects while broadening their client, commercial and leadership experience. Ideally, you will bring: • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering • Approximately 7+ years of structural engineering experience • Strong Australian engineering consultancy experience • Experience delivering larger or technically complex building structures • Strong reinforced concrete and steel design capability • Experience using ETABS, SpaceGass, RAM and/or RAPT • A sound understanding of Australian Standards and local construction practices • Experience across both design and construction-stage services • Strong communication, coordination and client-facing skills • CPEng and NER accreditation—or progress towards these—will be highly regarded Why Consider This Opportunity?
