EL1 Senior Power Platform Software Engineer (Developer)

• Initial Contract Duration: 12 Months • Extension term details: 12 Months • Number of extensions: 2 • Location: ACT • Security Requirements: Must have Baseline security clearance • Working Arrangements: Hybrid Flexible in office/WfH but ACT staff are strongly preferred. • Maximum hours: 40 hours per week Job details Software Engineers have experience overseeing software development projects, writing optimised code, and provide technical leadership to a team of software engineers. They are responsible for the quality and functionality of the software produced by their team. Key duties and responsibilities • Applicants should understand the Department's business and our mission. • The IT Project teams are small resource groups working closely with business teams, so ability to perform cohesively in this space is key. • This role is Canberra based. The Department will consider options for candidates to work outside of ACT however Canberra staff are preferred. Essential Criteria • Demonstrated experience developing solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365, Dataverse and the Power Platform, including Power Pages. • Strong front-end development skills using JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML and CSS, with experience in modern frameworks such as Vue.js. • Strong full-stack development skills, including experience with C#, .NET, REST APIs, JSON and SQL, and integrating front-end applications with backend services. • Experience with Azure and Power Platform integration technologies, such as API Management, Azure Functions, Logic Apps and Power Automate. • Experience working with established application architectures, development patterns and reusable components, including Azure DevOps, source control and CI/CD practices. • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with demonstrated experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary delivery teams. Desirable Criteria • Experience with AI and intelligent automation technologies, such as Azure AI, Microsoft Copilot, AI Builder, generative AI or agent-based solutions. • Relevant Microsoft certifications across Power Platform, Dynamics 365, Azure or AI will be highly regarded.
