Associate Structural Engineer – Building Structures | Sydney CBD 10–15+ (or more) Years | Major Projects | Client & Team Leadership $140,000–$180,000 + Super, dependent on experience A significant opportunity is available for an experienced Associate Structural Engineer to join the Sydney team of a large, highly regarded, top-tier multidisciplinary engineering consultancy. The business is experiencing continued growth following the award of multiple major new projects , creating an opportunity for an established senior structural engineer to take a key role within the team. This is a genuine Associate-level position , combining leadership of complex structural projects with client management, commercial responsibility, team development and business development. You will work alongside senior leaders within the business while having the autonomy and profile to lead major assignments and strengthen relationships with key clients. The project portfolio is substantial, spanning major commercial developments, high-rise and mixed-use buildings, data centres, industrial and resources-related projects and other technically complex structures . The Role You will take a leading role across projects, clients and the structural team, with responsibilities including: • Leading major and complex structural projects from concept and design development through documentation, coordination and delivery • Acting as a senior point of contact for key clients, architects, developers and project stakeholders • Building, maintaining and expanding strong client relationships • Contributing actively to business development, work winning, proposals and the development of new project opportunities • Identifying opportunities within existing client relationships and helping strengthen the consultancy's broader market presence • Providing technical leadership and oversight across complex structural design • Managing project commercials, budgets, resources, programmes, risk and quality • Coordinating multidisciplinary project teams and ensuring successful project delivery • Leading, mentoring and developing engineers and designers within the structural team • Supporting resource planning and allocation across a growing portfolio of projects • Working closely with senior management on team growth, project strategy and future pipeline About You We are looking for an established structural engineering professional with approximately 10–15+ years' experience , although more experienced candidates are certainly encouraged to enquire. Ideally, you will bring: • Extensive experience in structural building design , gained within a consulting engineering environment • A strong track record delivering large-scale and technically complex projects • Experience across sectors such as commercial, high-rise, mixed-use, data centres, industrial and/or resources • Demonstrated experience leading projects and multidisciplinary design teams • Strong technical knowledge across concrete, steel and complex structural systems • Proven ability to manage projects from both a technical and commercial perspective • Excellent client-facing skills with established relationships and the confidence to represent the consultancy at a senior level • Genuine experience or capability in business development, work winning and developing client opportunities • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring and developing engineers • Excellent communication, commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering , or equivalent • Chartered status / CPEng Why Consider This Opportunity?
