Job Description:
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Assume responsibility for the organisation’s local and international tax framework, ensuring compliance with all statutory obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Advise the business on tax-efficient structures, commercial transactions, international operations and regulatory requirements, providing practical solutions that align with business objectives.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of tax incentive applications, working closely with external specialists to maximise available benefits.
• Liaise with revenue authorities, external advisors and auditors on tax-related matters, including queries, assessments, audits and regulatory reviews.
• Evaluate emerging tax legislation and accounting developments, determining their impact on the business and recommending appropriate action where required.
• Manage the tax reporting process, including the review of tax provisions, deferred taxation and related financial statement disclosures in accordance with IFRS.
• Serve as a technical accounting resource for complex matters involving foreign currency transactions, revenue recognition, intercompany arrangements and international operations.
• Partner with the Finance Manager to coordinate annual audit requirements, ensuring the timely delivery of schedules, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Assist in the effective management of the finance function by contributing to monthly reporting, balance sheet integrity, intercompany accounting, payroll oversight, foreign exchange management and financial governance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the finance department by strengthening controls, enhancing processes and ensuring adherence to best-practice financial management standards.
Skills & Experience:
• Minimum 5 years' of experience in a similar position
• IFRS
• Foreign exchange
• Deferred taxation.
Qualification:
• CA(SA)
• Tax specialist qualification
