Senior Civil Engineer

A consulting company is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Design Engineer for roads projects! Your new role As a Senior Civil Engineer, you'll provide senior technical expertise, project leadership and engineering oversight across a range of civil infrastructure projects. This position combines hands-on technical delivery with project management, client engagement and team leadership responsibilities. Key responsibilities include: • Leading civil engineering projects from concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction. • Managing project programmes, budgets, resources, risks and financial performance. • Reviewing, supervising and certifying civil engineering designs within your area of competency as an RPEQ. • Providing technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to engineers, designers and drafters. • Acting as a senior point of contact for clients and stakeholders, leading meetings and managing project outcomes. • Contributing to tenders, fee proposals, project scoping and business development activities. • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, Australian Standards, Austroads guidelines, TMR requirements and local authority standards What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you'll possess: • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent recognised qualification. • Current Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) registration. • Minimum six years' experience in civil engineering. • Demonstrated experience delivering civil infrastructure projects from design through to construction. • Strong project management capabilities, including budgeting, programming, risk management and commercial oversight. • Experience undertaking senior technical reviews and engineering certification. • Sound knowledge of road design, storm-water drainage, pavements, earthworks and utility services. • Proficiency with civil engineering software such as AutoCAD and project management tools. • Strong leadership, mentoring and stakeholder management skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage clients, authorities, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
