About the job Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges. As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support. At Google, our Marketing Finance team operates at the dynamic intersection of strategy, investment, and analytics. We are a highly analytical team dedicated to maximizing returns through thought leadership and collaborative partnerships, all while ensuring robust quality controls are in place for Marketing’s OpEx budget. We don't just report on the numbers; we find creative ways to manage big-picture challenges and bring strategic insights. The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business. Responsibilities • Act as the core strategic bridge between Marketing and Finance, leveraging executive-level storytelling to influence cross-functional product finance partners and work across regions to align global narratives. • Analyze brand equity, funnel conversion, and customer loyalty using both cost-based metrics (CPIA) and value-based metrics (iROAS) to establish robust financial guardrails that enable growth. • Drive operational efficiency by piloting and scaling AI solutions to automate core financial workflows, freeing up team bandwidth for high-impact strategic work. • Mentor junior talent, and manage a collaborative hybrid team culture through active community contribution and in-office problem-solving. • Execute high-impact projects or analysis, and rapid-response financial modeling to support time-sensitive business decisions.
