About the Role RELYzIT Talent is seeking a Senior Test Specialist for a freelance engagement with our client in Antwerp, Belgium. As a key member of the FOCUS team within the Intelligence & Innovation directorate, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of mission-critical applications that directly impact public safety and operational excellence. As a Senior Test Specialist, your expertise will ensure that every release meets the highest standards of quality, reliability, and compliance. What You’ll Be Doing • Designing, preparing, and executing comprehensive test scenarios for large-scale, mission-critical applications. • Leading functional and regression testing to validate new features, changes, and releases. • Monitoring and reporting on the quality of software releases, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements. • Collaborating closely with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to drive a structured, professional testing approach. • Utilizing formal testing methods and advanced automation tools to maximize efficiency and coverage. • Proactively identifying risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement within the testing lifecycle. • Managing and configuring test environments, including handling complex configurations via nested JSON files and translation management. • Contributing to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies, leveraging AI and automation where possible. • Ensuring compliance with all project documentation, including IT code and NDA requirements. What We’re Looking For • Proven experience as a test specialist working on large, mission-critical applications (senior level). • Deep knowledge of formal testing methods, techniques, and specialized testing suites or tools. • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools. • Strong ownership mindset, proactive initiative, and the ability to work independently in a quality-driven, socially critical environment. • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for delivering impactful, reliable solutions. • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex concepts clearly. Technical Skills & Tools • Test Automation (required) • Atlassian Stack (Jira/Confluence) • Cypress • Ranorex • X-ray • Functional configuration via multiple nested JSON files • Managing translations via configuration files • Inheritance of code and building queries • AI for Test Design and/or Test Automation • Strong knowledge of C# • Functional testing expertise • Specialized testing suites or tools Language Proficiency • Fluent Dutch speaker at European CEFR level C2 (required) Other Requirements • IT code AG Digipolis Antwerp (to be signed) • NDA AG Digipolis Antwerp (to be signed) • Ability to provide a comprehensive CV and complete required attachments as part of the application process • Willingness to work within the framework agreement terms, including assignment extensions and notice periods as specified Project Details • This is a freelance position with an initial duration of 10 months, based in Antwerp, Belgium. • Assignment duration may be extended by mutual agreement in 12-month periods, within the framework agreement. • Price adjustments are only permitted via indexation after each 12-month period. • Both parties may terminate the agreement with one month’s notice by registered letter.
