Business Financial Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Business Financial Analyst to support our Engineered Plastics business. The role will focus on delivering high-quality financial analysis, supporting pricing decisions, and partnering with commercial teams to improve business performance. The ideal candidate should have strong financial modeling skills, a good understanding of revenue drivers, and the ability to convert data into actionable insights. Key Responsibilities • Own and deliver financial reporting and analysis for assigned business segments • Analyze revenue, pricing, and profitability (price / volume / mix) • Perform variance analysis and explain key performance drivers • Build, maintain, and improve financial models • Support pricing decisions through margin and profitability insights • Partner with commercial and operational teams to gather inputs and validate assumptions • Identify risks and opportunities impacting financial results • Improve reporting processes, tools, and data quality • Translate business inputs into structured financial insights for decision-making Core Skills • Strong understanding of revenue and margin drivers • Advanced Excel skills (modeling, analysis, dashboards) • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (Power BI is a plus) • Ability to work with large datasets • Ability to connect financial outcomes with business decisions • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Comfortable working with ambiguous or incomplete data • Strong communication and stakeholder management • Proactive mindset with attention to detail Additional Information : This role is based in Chennai (Taramani).The position supports U.K. business hours (approx. 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST) and during month close US business hours (approx. 7:00 PM -4:00 PM IST) Requirements • Education: B.Com, MBA (Finance), CA, or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) • Experience: 7+ years of relevant experience in Finance reporting, Analyzing revenue, Pricing & Profitability • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas and lookups) At Ascend Performance Materials, we value transparency and fairness in our hiring process.
