Business Analyst - Systems & Regulatory Reporting

A growing financial services organisation is seeking a Business Analyst who thrives at the intersection of systems analysis, regulatory reporting, and data‑driven problem solving. About the Role You’ll support the uplift of a core reporting platform (including Axiom) while strengthening BAU and enhanced regulatory reporting processes. Working across Finance, Risk, and Technology, you’ll analyse data flows, improve controls, and help modernise how regulatory information is captured, validated, and submitted. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys mapping systems end‑to‑end, resolving data issues, and translating reporting requirements into practical, scalable solutions. Key Responsibilities • Systems & data analysis — Map upstream data sources, identify breaks, and support enhancements across reporting systems, including Axiom. • Regulatory reporting delivery — Assist with preparation, validation, and submission of prudential/statistical returns, ensuring accuracy and completeness. • Data lineage & controls — Strengthen reporting controls, improve reconciliations, and uplift documentation across the reporting lifecycle. • Process optimisation — Review current workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements across systems and reporting processes. • Testing & change support — Support UAT, rule updates, and system changes to ensure enhancements are embedded into BAU reporting cycles. • Stakeholder engagement — Partner with Finance, Risk, and Technology to deliver accurate, efficient, and compliant reporting outcomes. What You Bring • Experience in regulatory reporting, financial reporting, or data‑heavy environments. • Exposure to systems analysis, data mapping, or reporting platforms (Axiom advantageous). • Strong analytical capability and comfort working with rules, controls, and structured data. • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, problem‑solving mindset. • Curiosity and ambition to grow within a modernising financial services environment. Requirements • CA / CPA qualified with strong grounding in financial and technical accounting. • 4+ years’ experience across financial accounting, regulatory reporting or audit within financial services, investment management or large ASX‑listed environments. • Technical accounting expertise with solid understanding of AASB standards, prudential requirements and structured reporting frameworks. • Audit or reporting exposure for large ASX‑listed or financial services organisations, with confidence navigating complex data and control environments. • Strong communication & stakeholder skills — able to partner effectively with Finance, Risk and Technology teams. • Process improvement mindset with genuine interest in systems uplift, reporting accuracy and control enhancement. • Self‑starter who takes initiative, works autonomously when needed, and thrives in a collaborative, modernising team environment.
