Commercial Financial Analyst

Our client is one of Australia's leading retail organisations, currently in a period of significant growth. With an expanding store footprint and growing customer base, they're building out their finance function to keep pace with the scale and pace of the business. About the Role: We're looking for a commercially minded Finance Analyst to join a high-performing finance team, partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the business to drive profitability, inform strategic decisions, and support the organisation's continued growth trajectory. This is a hands-on, analytical role suited to someone who enjoys translating data into clear, actionable commercial insight. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and support the annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes • Conduct detailed variance analysis against budget and forecast • Analyse margin and profitability performance identifying opportunities to optimise commercial outcomes • Prepare business cases and investment appraisals to support strategic initiatives • Deliver timely, insightful management reporting and dashboards to senior stakeholders, translating complex financial data into clear commercial narratives • Business partnering with internal and external stakeholders • Support ad hoc financial modelling, scenario analysis and commercial evaluations as required About You: • CA/CPA qualified (or working towards) • 3+ years' experience in a commercial finance, FP&A, or business partnering role, ideally within retail or a multi-site operating environment • Strong Excel skills; experience with Power BI or similar BI tools highly regarded • Demonstrated experience preparing business cases, financial models and investment appraisals • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships with senior stakeholders • A proactive, commercially curious mindset with strong attention to detail • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with competing priorities Why Join: • Be part of a business experiencing genuine, sustained growth • High-visibility role with direct exposure to senior leadership and strategic decision-making • Collaborative, supportive finance team culture • Competitive salary and benefits package By clicking 'apply', you give your express consent that Robert Half may use your personal information to process your job application and to contact you from time to time for future employment opportunities.
