Data & AI Engineer

We’re looking for a Data & AI Engineer to help us connect data, automate work and bring practical AI solutions into everyday business processes. This is not a role where you’ll disappear into the back room building technology for technology’s sake. You’ll work across the business to solve real problems. You’ll build reliable data platforms, create automation that removes manual effort, develop reporting that helps people make better decisions and help bring AI into the hands of our teams. What you’ll do You’ll work across data, automation and AI, including: • Building and maintaining data pipelines across Microsoft Fabric, SQL Server and enterprise applications • Developing Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models that people trust and use • Creating integrations using APIs, SFTP and other technologies to connect systems and information • Designing automated workflows that improve efficiency and reduce manual effort • Supporting the development of AI agents and AI enabled applications using Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio and Microsoft technologies • Writing Python, SQL and other code to solve business problems and improve data capability • Improving data quality, governance, security and documentation practices • Working with stakeholders to understand challenges and design practical solutions What success looks like You will: • Deliver solutions that create measurable business value • Build reliable and scalable data products • Improve access to trusted information across the business • Help teams automate repetitive work • Contribute to growing McPherson’s AI capability • Turn ideas into practical outcomes that make work easier and more effective What you’ll bring We’re less interested in finding someone who has done everything before and more interested in finding someone who enjoys learning, solving problems and building things that matter. You’ll ideally have: • A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline • Three to five years of experience in data engineering, software development, analytics or a similar role • Strong SQL and Python skills • Experience working with APIs, integrations and data pipelines • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and modern AI technologies • An understanding of data architecture, governance and security principles • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • The ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and practical way • A collaborative approach and a genuine curiosity about how technology can improve business outcomes Why McPherson’s?
