TecQubes Technologies - Senior SQL Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities : - Administer, maintain, monitor, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server environments across versions 2008 R2, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2019, and 2022, along with Azure SQL environments. - Perform database upgrades, migrations, patching, backups, restores, recovery, and routine maintenance activities across production and non-production environments. - Monitor database health and performance and implement query optimization, indexing, and performance-tuning strategies to ensure high availability and scalability. - Design, implement, and support disaster recovery and high-availability solutions using Always On Availability Groups, Log Shipping, SQL Replication, and Geo-Replication. - Manage and support Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure SQL PaaS databases, and hybrid database environments, including cloud migration activities. - Automate database administration and operational tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and Azure automation tools. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex L3 issues related to database connectivity, performance, locking/blocking, replication, availability, backups, and data integrity. - Collaborate with development and application teams to support SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and SQL-based applications and resolve database-related application issues. - Ensure database security, access control, compliance, backup policies, data governance, and operational standards are maintained across environments. - Participate in capacity planning, infrastructure reviews, cloud migration initiatives, technical documentation, process improvement, and development of database administration best practices. Mandatory Skills : - Primary & Important Skill : L3 support SQL Database Administrator experience with Azure (min 3 years) and familiarity with Automation Tools (min 2 to 3 years). - Secondary skill : Experience in other database L2 PostgreSQL. Technical Requirements : - MS SQL DBA L3 level experience. - Other Database PostgreSQL L2 Level experience. - Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases (2008R2/2012/2014/2016/2019/2022) and Azure SQL environments. - Perform database upgrades, migrations, backups, restores, and patching. - Monitor performance and implement tuning strategies for high availability and scalability. - Design and implement disaster recovery solutions using Always On, Log Shipping, SQL Replication and Geo-Replication. - Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and Azure automation tools. - Collaborate with development teams to support SSIS, SSRS, and SQL-based applications. - Ensure database security, compliance, and access control across environments. - Troubleshoot complex issues related to connectivity, performance, and data integrity. - Participate in capacity planning and infrastructure reviews. - Document procedures, configurations, and best practices. - Experience with Azure services : Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure PAAS DBs. - Proficiency in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies. - Hands-on experience with backup/restore strategies and disaster recovery planning. - Familiarity with cloud migration tools and hybrid environments. - Scripting skills in PowerShell and T-SQL. - Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS. - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. - Understanding of data governance and compliance frameworks. Preferred Candidate Profile : - Candidate with Immediate to Serving Notice period within 15-20 days with strong SQL DBA experience should apply.
