Are you a creative Graphic Designer who loves bringing ideas to life across print, digital and video? We're looking for an experienced designer to join a busy communications team, creating engaging visual content that informs, connects and inspires communities across North Queensland. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast paced environment and is passionate about delivering high quality creative work that makes an impact. What you'll be doing • Designing engaging visual content across print, digital, social media and video platforms • Producing brochures, publications, presentations, newsletters, advertisements, displays, maps and other communication materials • Creating and editing video content for a range of communication campaigns • Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand communication objectives and translate complex information into clear, engaging visual solutions • Providing advice on branding, creative design and visual communication best practice • Managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional quality • Coordinating with external suppliers including printers, photographers, videographers and illustrators when required • Ensuring all work aligns with accessibility standards and established brand guidelines • Keeping up to date with design trends and contributing ideas to continually improve creative outputs About you You'll be an experienced Graphic Designer with a strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to deliver professional, polished creative work across multiple channels. We're looking for someone with: • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop and Premiere Pro • Experience producing creative content across print, digital and video • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and creating accessible documents • Experience working within corporate or government branding guidelines • Excellent organisation and time management skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities • A collaborative approach and strong stakeholder engagement skills • Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for high quality design Experience working within large corporate or government environments will be highly regarded, as will tertiary qualifications in Graphic Design or a related discipline. What's on offer • Hourly rates from $69.21 to $75.09 + Super, depending on experience and suitability • Initial contract till end of June 2027 with 2 x 12 month extension options • Based in either Cairns or Townsville • Office based position with flexible work arrangements available after the initial probation period • Opportunity to work on meaningful communication projects that make a real impact across North Queensland If you're a creative professional who enjoys solving communication challenges through outstanding design, we'd love to hear from you.
