Job Title: Head of Manufacturing Department: Manufacturing and Engineering Reporting to: CEO Experience in Agri Equipments - Compulsory (min 7 years) Location: Hyderabad Role Summary: The Head of Manufacturing will be pivotal in executing the company's growth plan and strategic direction. This role involves overseeing product development, engineering the manufacturing process, making critical decisions on machine selection, and optimizing production efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring technical machining competence and employ advanced manufacturing techniques to ensure the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Product Development: - Engage with customer product development teams to understand both the objective and subjective requirements of products and update product specifications accordingly. - Play an instrumental role in plant setup and determine and execute improved technologies used by suppliers, competitors, and customers. - Transfer new technologies, products, and manufacturing processes into and out of the company. - Research, design, and evaluate materials, assemblies, processes, and equipment. - Strategize marketing to select products that align with the company's vision and mission. - Lead key decisions and execution throughout the product development process. - Collaborate with vendors for tooling and fixture development. - Develop and adhere to quality documentation on the shop floor (e.g., APQP). Performance Indicators: - Increase in sales from new products (NPD sales). - Adherence to NPD development timelines. - Improved profitability related to new product development. - Efficiency in quotation turnaround time. Continuous Improvement: - Identify and lead projects to improve quality, productivity, and profitability. - Focus on cycle time and consumable cost reduction. - Enhance programming time and agility. Performance Indicators: - Monthly cycle time reductions. - Increased company profitability. Productivity Improvement: - Set procedures for machine shop productivity measures (e.g., OEE). - Analyze OEE data and plan initiatives for improvement. Performance Indicators: - Positive OEE improvement trends. Team Building: - Develop and oversee a motivated manufacturing engineering team. - Enhance team morale through personal productivity and structured daily management. - Establish rigorous manufacturing standards and promote collaboration across functions. Key Qualifications and Skills: - Expertise in machining, machine tools, and agriculture tools. - Knowledge of machining concepts like tractors, combines, harvesters, seeders, balers, and other agricultural equipment. - Experience in designing and developing special innovative baling tools and managing tooling strategies. - Strong technical writing and documentation skills, including APQP and production documentation. - Analytical and problem-solving abilities. - Experience in quality and reliability standards for critical industries (e.g. Agriculture). - Proficiency in method study, time study, and value stream mapping. - Skills in estimation and costing for cycle time and consumable costs. - Experience in operator training and work skill development. - Proficiency in CAD, CREO software and Solid works.
