Job Role: Head - Quality : - Candidates from Mumbai ONLY will be considered Qualification: BE - Mechanical OR Diploma. - Mandatory should have certification in Six Sigma & Kaizen - Experience in Sheet Metal , Fabrication OR Injection moulding would be added advantage - Candidate SHOULD be from the Manufacturing domain - Must have managed a team of engineers. Division: Operations Section Location : Dombivli B4 Reports to: Head-Operations Role Overview : - Quality Strategy & Policy Formulation Implementation - Team Leadership & Mentoring - Continuous Improvement - Handling Customer Complaints & Grievances - Compliance & Standards Areas of Responsibilities Key Activities Essential Functions : The Head of Quality is responsible for defining and implementing the organizations quality strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across all manufacturing and operational processes. This role leads the QA team, manages customer and internal complaints, and ensures the organization achieves excellence in product quality, safety, and efficiency. Key Responsibilities : 1. Quality Strategy & Policy : i. Define and implement the organisation's overall quality assurance strategy and policies. ii. Align quality objectives with business goals and regulatory requirements. 2. Team Leadership : i. Lead, manage, and mentor the quality assurance team, fostering professional development and high performance. ii. Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and quality excellence. 3. Continuous Improvement : i. Lead organisation-wide continuous improvement programs, including Six Sigma and quality improvement projects. ii. Monitor and improve Cost of Quality (COQ) and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. 4. Customer & Internal Complaints : i. Manage customer complaints, feedback, and internal quality issues. ii. Ensure timely corrective and preventive actions are implemented to prevent recurrence. 5. Compliance & Standards : i. Lead and maintain Integrated Management System (IMS) standards including QMS, EMS, and OHSAS. ii. Serve as lead auditor for quality, environment, and safety regulations (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, OSHA compliance). 6. Process & Supply Chain Oversight : i. Deep understanding of manufacturing processes such as molding, sheet metal, and assembly lines. ii. Understand supply chain management including vendor quality assessments, supplier audits, and material traceability. iii. Apply statistical process control methods (FMEA, SPC, Pareto analysis) to monitor and improve manufacturing processes. Required Qualifications & Skills : - Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification. - Extensive experience in quality management within manufacturing. - Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills. - Proficiency in statistical process control, quality tools, and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience : - Minimum 10 years in a senior quality assurance role within manufacturing. - Proven track record of leading QA teams and implementing quality improvement initiatives. Key Competencies : - Leadership and team management - Strategic thinking - Analytical and data-driven decision-making - Effective communication and stakeholder management - Process optimization and operational excellence Person Specification Education, Language & Qualifications : - Any B.Tech/BE in Mechanical Engineering - Minimum 10 - 15 yrs. experience - Excellent written and spoken English. Good Knowledge of Marathi Essential Knowledge, skills and Experience : - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Experienced in Handling a Team of Back office operations as well as Sales force - Excellent Goal Orientation with a proven ability to meet deadlines. - In-depth knowledge of the product line & segmentation & positioning - Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Desirable Knowledge, Competency Required : - Professional and Organizational Knowledge - Leadership/Human Resources Management - Client/ Stakeholder Communication - Excellent Negotiation & Interpersonal skills
