General Manager - Quality Assurance & Quality Control - Manufacturing Firm

Role Overview: We are seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance and Quality Control leader to spearhead our quality excellence initiatives at our Pune facility. In this strategic leadership role, you will oversee the end-to-end quality lifecycle, ensuring that our products consistently exceed global standards and customer expectations. You will act as the primary bridge between cross-functional engineering teams, manufacturing operations, and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational rigor. By driving robust quality frameworks and data-driven decision-making, you will directly influence our market reputation, minimize operational risks, and ensure the seamless delivery of high-performance solutions to our global clientele. Key Responsibilities: - Define and implement comprehensive quality strategies that align with business objectives to ensure product reliability and regulatory compliance. - Lead and mentor large, cross-functional QA/QC teams, fostering a high-performance environment focused on technical excellence and professional growth. - Oversee complex quality audits and process evaluations to identify systemic gaps and drive corrective actions that enhance overall manufacturing efficiency. - Collaborate with senior leadership and external partners to integrate quality benchmarks into the product development lifecycle, ensuring early-stage defect prevention. - Manage quality-related budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships to optimize operational costs without compromising on product integrity. - Champion a culture of continuous improvement by leveraging lean methodologies and Six Sigma principles to streamline workflows and reduce waste across the organization. Required Skillset: - Demonstrated expertise in designing and executing enterprise-level quality management systems (QMS) within a large-scale manufacturing or engineering environment. - Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes, utilizing exceptional communication and negotiation skills to influence senior management and external regulatory bodies. - Strong analytical acumen with the ability to translate technical quality data into actionable business insights that drive strategic decision-making. - Exceptional leadership capabilities, with a track record of managing and developing diverse teams through periods of organizational change or rapid scaling. - A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or a related technical field, ideally complemented by certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt or ASQ. - High degree of adaptability to an on-site work environment in Pune, with the ability to lead physical shop-floor operations while maintaining a global perspective on quality standards. - 15-22 years of progressive experience in quality management, with a focus on high-stakes environments where precision and compliance are paramount.
