Data Governance Lead - MDM Implementation

Job Summary : We are seeking an experienced Data Governance Lead to establish, drive, and operationalize enterprise-wide data governance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data governance, data management, metadata management, data quality, and governance frameworks, preferably within the financial services or investment management domain. This role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and program delivery capabilities to ensure high-quality, trusted, and well-governed enterprise data assets. Key Responsibilities : - Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide Data Governance and Data Management programs. - Define and operationalize data governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures aligned with business and regulatory requirements. - Establish data ownership, stewardship, accountability, and governance operating models across business functions. - Drive metadata management, data lineage, business glossary, and governance workflows using Collibra or similar governance platforms. - Develop and enforce enterprise data quality frameworks, controls, and monitoring processes. - Collaborate with Investment, Risk, Finance, Technology, and Data & Analytics teams to ensure consistent governance practices. - Lead governance councils, steering committees, and working groups while providing regular updates to executive leadership. - Manage large-scale governance programs, including project planning, resource coordination, RAID management, milestone tracking, and executive reporting. - Define Critical Data Elements (CDEs), business rules, governance standards, and quality metrics across public and private market data. - Monitor governance KPIs, SLAs, operational metrics, and compliance with enterprise data standards. - Ensure governance frameworks are embedded into day-to-day business operations and delivery processes. - Identify governance risks and recommend mitigation strategies to improve data integrity and compliance. - Mentor data stewards and governance teams while promoting a strong data governance culture across the organization. Required Skills: - 10+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, or enterprise data program delivery. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in B.E./B.Tech, MCA, MBA (Information Systems), Computer Science, or a related field. - Proven experience leading enterprise-scale data governance initiatives in complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Strong program and project management skills, including : 1. Planning & Execution 2. RAID Management 3. Resource Coordination 4. Executive & Steering Committee Reporting - Experience defining and tracking governance KPIs, SLAs, and operational performance metrics. - Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
